The Best Solvent
As for myself and likely any other clay sport shooter- competitor, this wad solvent from Brownell’s is the only choice to make. I shoot upwards of 15k rounds annually and this product is simply Outstanding. When I’m down to one container, I order two more so I’m always covered. Buy it and you won’t ever be disappointed.

Is it magic or not?
We clean a LOT of heavily fouled shotgun bores due to plastic wad deposits along with carbon and general crud.
There is NO chemical that will dissolve plastic wad material that is offered for sale to the general public.
ANY ultra thin penetrating type oil will work under most plastic wad fouling, allowing it to be removed easily, but still requiring removal mechanically.
This stuff works great, gets under and loosens plastic wad fouling nicely.
Does what it says!
This stuff is exactly what I was looking for. Now rather than using automotive products that I am not sure are safe for my gun, this does the job. I put little in a ziplock bag and let my chokes soak in it while I swab my barrels with it. Give it a few minutes. Then I use a barrel brush to easily push out was residue. Once the barrels are completely clean, its time for the chokes. They clean up easily as well. Dont get this product on wood surfaces.
Best solvent on the market, ever....
Having been cleaning shotguns for the past 50 + years, this is the most efficient and easy to use bore solvent that I have ever used. And believe me, I have tried many of them and not a one comes close to doing an excellent job in such a short amount of time, no matter how dirty the barrel is. I have shared this with several folks that I shoot trap with, and they too, were equally impressed. Respectfully, John A. Reichel, Dixon, CA
Another excellent product
I have been very pleased with this excellent product from Brownell's... It is the fastest and easiest wad solvent that I have used in my 55 years of shooting scatter guns. I've tried several others, but none compare to the ease and efficient cleaning of the barrel. Even after several hundred rounds of clays, it comes whistle clean with only a few passes of the bore brush. No noticeable odor, Matter of fact, I'm giving a can to all of the folks that I shoot clays for Christmas. Another satisfied customer, John A. Reichel
Best wad solvent on the market
There is not a better wad solvent on the market. Soak your choke tubes in this stuff for about 20-25 minutes and the plastic wad fouling comes out in sheets. Put some on a patch and wrap the patch around a bronze brush, a few swipes later and you've got a VERY clean bore. It's fast, it's easy and it works!
Works great
I followed the directions and was surprised at the amount of wad fouling that came out. I'll make this a part of my shotgun cleaning routine from now on. I'd allow five stars except the odor is pretty intense, you have to use this in a ventilated area. And the 4 oz size will last quite awhile with no more than you need to use for a single cleaning.
Wad Solvent
I used this product with a brass bristle brush same as you would with any other bore solvent like Hoppes. However, the difference is how aggressive it is on plastic wad build up. Depending on how bad the the plastic has fouled the bore, I usually make about 3-4 passes through the bore with the brush then allow it to soak about 15 minutes. I then pull a boar snake through which leaves a clean and shiney bore. The only reason I don't give the product 5 stars is because it don't smell as good as Hoppes. Good Stuff !
Effective Wad Plastic remover
Shoot tubed shotgun and need to clean 12ga plastic out before tubing for the next match without a lot of time to do it. This gel gets the job done, ports, chokes and all. I gel the barrels then dump empties, pull shells and the tubes. By then the barrels are ready to brush, patch, tube, and I'm good to go. Friends have brought over field guns with enough plastic to sub-gauge. Takes a little longer but the end is just steel and shine. Highly recommended.
