Great product
This kit is a life savor. Works good, when I needed to shim before I would cut the shims from an aluminum can. Never seemed to make the same cut twice. These are uniform have the holes drilled and you know your exact measurements.
EASY
a quick easy way to gain some elevation by placing these shims under your scope base or picatinny rail....much easier than DIY shims
Old style custom
I have acquired a very high quality custom 1917 Enfield rifle in 300 Win Mag. done in the 1950's supposedly by RCBS, (stamped on the barrel) . All machining of the receiver was done very accurately , but finding scope rings and bases that complement it are hard to find. I settled on Buehler rings and 2 piece bases for Win M70, fit is proper, true and plumb, but there is a bit of a dome on the rear base between the receiver and the upper inside dome of the rear base. I am using these shims accompanied with some Acra Glass to fill in that dome. Fitting/trimming was aided by inletting ink, GOLD. I suppose I could just use the Acra Glass alone, but as it is a magnum, I want some reinforcement for the epoxy. ( kind of a belt AND suspenders), I gave it 5 stars, but would give it 20 stars if the kit contained thickness sizes 0.001" - 0.002". Had to add a Hart shim kit to get those thicknesses.
Perfect to achieve a MOA adjustment
Worked great to achieve a 20 MIA adjustment with Leupold STD base and Burris Posalign rings for my Kahles ZF. The shins are easy to mount and are sized correctly.
