Flash suppressor QD
Dead Air QD flash suppressor is an excellent addition to my AR 15. Easy to order and the shippment was fast.
Best QD on the market
I can't have to many, one for every host. This QD is simply the best imho. Timed with your can, lock down is how it should be, repeatable. Do yourself a favor, but a Sandman-S.
Dead Air AK flash hider DA303
Just wanted to get this out since there's not a whole lot of info on this particular model. Obviously, it's a flash hider so the packaging will not include timing shims or for that matter a crush washer. Also, there is no notch to secure this flash hider to the spring loaded pin at the front sight. On my C39v2, this flash hider indexed on the muzzle leaving a gap between the shoulder and the base of the flash hider. Alignment check with a Geissele rod checked good.
Had issues with this muzzle device
I have both the Dead Air muzzle break and two of the flash hiders. My Sandman-S had no problems sliding over the muzzle break but the flash hiders I ran into a few issues. One of the flash hiders I installed the suppressor would not fit over it at all. To eliminate the issue being with the suppressor I tried again with the muzzle break and had zero problems. The suppressor slipped right on. The second flash hider I installed I was able to mount the suppressor but it was super tight compared to the muzzle brake. I had to put it on and take it off several times to make sure I didn't have to force it. I am returning the one flash hider that had issues.
Have several but issues with this one
I have several Dead Air muzzle devices and love them. However, the design on the 5/8x24 flash hider has a minor flaw. If you want to use any of the shims as a spacer or to to time the flash hider(most don't but I do with my suppressor) there is no way to tighten the flash hider down without damaging the shim(s). I tried using an armorer wrench and a 3/4 inch wrench but the shim(s) are in the way...and this is even the thinnest shim. I returned and purchased the muzzle break instead which does not have this issue.
