I bought this tool from Brownells to aid in the disassembly of a Ruger American Ranch 5.56, AR-Mag model, First Generation/iteration. I disassembled the bolt once (1) using a screwdriver, and decided it would be best to get this tool. This tool is very helpful in disassembly, but the bolt is tricky understand! Be careful or you’ll break the locking piece on the rear of the bolt. Some of the American Ranch Rifles have an excessively heavy bolt lift, and I had hoped that I could resolve the issue using an aftermarket firing pin spring. This tool and aftermarket springs/lock piece are heavily promoted by social media influencers as the “solution” to the heavy bolt lift. The tool works, but the other parts do NOT. Still, the tool is useful for bolt disassembly for cleaning or if a new bolt handle is something you want to try. Best of luck.
