Nuances and such…
1. If you order the “black” version of this kit the trigger will be black, but the bolt release will be bright silver colored.
2. The Bolt release in the kit just doesn’t work on the MK3 22/45 lite.
3. I installed the bolt release on an MK2, and noted that it prevents my MK2 pistol from fitting in various leather holsters. I removed it. Useless.

Ruger Accurizer Kit by Volquartsen
As a gunsmith this kit really makes my job easy to improve the trigger pull on these pistols. Someone who is careful and reads the install instructions with simple tools could install this kit and end up with a good trigger job. Yes, I would recommend this kit.
Big difference
I bought this for a Ruger Mark II 22/45 Target pistol. I had never broken down the trigger assembly before so this was new to me. I took my time, fearing the worst, but it turned out to be a fairly straight forward and simple change out of parts. The resulting trigger function was superb...especially the trigger pull weight which settled in at 2.2 lbs compared to 4.3 lbs from my factory trigger. It is not cheap, but it is nice. Documentation provided is fairly generic and represents all of the Mark series Rugers, so you may find a reference here and there that does not apply to your specific pistol.
Trigger much better.
I put this MK II kit in a MK III 22/45, The MK II kit has the bushing that allows removing the magazine disconnect. I put the VQ disconnector bar (SKU: 930000051) in too. This is included in the MK IV kit, but not in the MK II or MK III kits. It went in easily following watching a youtube video. It is a crisp break, I don't have a gauge to check the weight.
Makes a MKIII pretty decent
If you have a MKIII buy this kit - you'll be able to drop your mag free instead of it hanging up in the grip housing when using the mag release. You also don't have to worry about installing the disconnect or disconnect spring (extra steps on MKIII trigger install. Ok, that being said, wow, this kit makes a ruger MK series actually enjoyable to shoot. I put this in a MKIII slabside target model and for the first time ever it actually feels like a 'target' gun. Maybe not a trigger you would want on a camp or carry gun, but for the range this upgrade is a must. I'm sorry I wanted so long to do this - shot this MKIII once about six years ago and put it away because the trigger was so terrible. This feels lighter than a 10/22 BX trigger if you need a frame of reference, and those are pretty light triggers. Install not hard at all - leverage internet videos and take it slow.
Volquartsen Accurizing Kit
I've got one of these on my Ruger Mk II, and everyone that shoots it is amazed with the trigger pull and accuracy, even though the pistol is over 40 years old, so I'm getting one for my Mk III. I'm gonna have the most accurate .22 pistol in the hole darn state!
Highest Quality Product
Volquartsen is a well known and respected company, and I have had some experience with their products in the past, so when I decided to to an action upgrade to my recently purchased Ruger MKII pistol, I immediately thought of them. Bought this kit from Brownell's and I just can't say enough good things about it. The precision and quality of the components in the kit is just unbelievable. The installation process wasn't too bad if you have had some experience with simple gunsmithing. Installation instructions were adequate, but there wasn't any adjustment instructions included. This wasn't a huge issue to me because I think most users who buy this type of product has a general idea of how the adustments would be done. I highly recommend this kit for anyone who wants to make the trigger pull on their MKII ruger as smooth as glass.
Worked Well for Me
I bought this trigger for my new 22/45 Lite which arrived with the stock trigger @ 7.5lbs. With a SureFire suppressor and Trijicon MRO optic, I put about 200rds through it and the trigger stayed around 7.25lbs. After installing this trigger kit, this trigger now breaks @ 1.75lbs, not crisp but with a slight roll to it; quite a good improvement. I'll echo the other reviews, you really should watch some of the Youtube videos, pick the best one and then follow it. I have a pretty good background in different trigger systems and I probably would of broken something here w/o watching the videos.
Great trigger
This is the second one I've bought. Fairly easy to install and adjust. The end results are in my opinion the best you can buy in a box. I really can't say enough good about Volquartsen products they can turn your ordinary Ruger into something that's a pleasure to shoot.
A solution the really works
It's very seldom I am as pleased w a purchase as I am with this. The results have turned my Pistol (Ruger Mk III hunter SS). into a pleasing and accurate shooter. Installing the kit was easier than taking it down for a complete thorough cleaning but if you are not mechanically adept or experienced you might find it a bit tedious. There are a number of Net Videos on the subject. The fit and finish on parts is excellent and probably better than original. This kit was designed for a Mk II and doesn't support the Magazine/ Trigger interlock so It was left it out. There may be local laws and resale to consider. The SS trigger looks and feels great. Magazine release is cleaner and it, and the extended bolt release can be operated w 1 hand now. As an amputee these are big pluses for me. The bolt release may interfere w some holsters but it could easily be trimmed to suit. I would buy this kit again without a 2nd thought. I use this gun for varmint control, as a rifle is too awkward for me. It now works better than my older Mk II, and that's darned good. There are good installation instructions but no pictures so you need to know the parts by name and will need the Ruger manual. There is nothing to describe the adjustment of the travel limiting screws but it doesn't take much to figure it out. Too much limiting and the gun will fail to fire or fail to reset and you just need to back up a bit. Precaution, Do not dry fire. Save a few fired brass for that, or buy a snap cap. Has nothing to do w the kit but is needed for the proper take down process. If you don't you may burr the chamber throat. Kit was delivered in 4 days spanning the 4th of July! How can you beat that? Thank you Brownells.
