Ruger Mags ran perfect
Used a Ruger Mini-Thirty on a helicopter hog hunt up in North Texas this past weekend and it ran flawless when using the Ruger 20-round magazines. Tried a couple of other brand mags to no avail. Never experienced a malfunction using the metal Ruger mini-thirty magazines. BTW, that 7.62x39 round is a show stopper on hogs. Wow!

Compact, reliable, durable, light weight
Ruger really got it right with these mags. They are more compact and lighter weight than all of the other after-market brand 20 round magazines that I have tried. They lock into my Mini-30 solid and pop in and out easily for quick magazine changes. Another nice feature is the holes drilled on the sides which all you to monitor how much ammo you have remaining.

MARGINAL MAGAZINES
I just received 2 of these magazines. They had what appeared to lithium grease in the crevices of the shell. There were fingerprints all over both of them, making me wonder if they were a returned item. They should lock the bolt back after the last round. One of them did regularly, the other about half the time. They were hard to get out of the magazine well. I could rock them back but they just didn't seem to disengage. I hope it because they are new but that something I've never had a problem with previously with new magazines, both Ruger and aftermarket. These are Ruger factory replacements. They are supposed to work first time out of the box. I have 4 more scheduled to arrive this week. I guess I will find out if they are all the same. I have bought over 100 new magazines so far this year, both factory and aftermarket. I have never had this kind of problem with any factory replacement magazine. Again, it makes me wonder if these were rejects that were returned.
