Love this stock
Wanting to try out long distance shooting, I opted for Magpul Hunter stock to replace my Gen 1 R/A .308. It literally is a drop in fit. I really appreciate the adjustability of it to fit me.

Magpul 5 STAR
Took maybe 30 min to install, fit spot on , great feature on the adjustment length of pull and cheek piece. 2 cons for some your stock bolt can not be totally removed , due to hitting the cheek piece so you have to raise it to clear bolt removal , and def a few pounds heavier on the gun weight , stock is very well built and has a aluminum insert

excellent value, big upgrade
I rarely give 5star reviews. I have 4 Ruger American rifles that I use heavily for predator control. With some minor modifications The factory stock was mostly manageable on a couple of the compact & ranch rifles, but I got an American Predator that was not nearly as good and needed a stock swap. I swapped one of these Magpul American Hunters on and it is a world of difference. ****these are not tinker toys. If you don't know what you are doing or aren't paying attention with your alignments before torquing the fasteners down your can end up like a prior reviewer did with issues effecting mag seating angle causing poor feeding etc**** I really appreciated the ability to remove the LOP spacers and get the lop down to right at 13" as well as the ability to add the high SGA cheek riser. Having those adjustments available helped greatly with using short eye relief thermals and being able to snap the rifle up and find a perfect natural point of aim/cheek weld on standard day optics.

RAP upgrade
Ruger factory barrel drops right in. very easy. more solid than RAP factory stock. The photos of the FDE color look desert sand. Its not. More like light green. Looks great now that Ive painted it sand color. Brownells CS is excellent.

Overall, a great stock.
I bought this stock for my Ruger American Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor. The installation instructions were easy to follow and the process was relatively quick. the stock adds quite some weight overall, but that part also seems to give it better balance and a more solid feel. The RAP's original stock and mag had some issues with feeding rounds (especially soft nose ammo), but I've had no such issues with this one. The included cheek weld (1/4' rise) set my eye perfect with my scope (centered about 1.75" from the bore), but also makes it tricky to remove the bolt. I have to flip my bolt upside down to clear the bolt shroud from the stock. Depending on how far back one's scope is mounted, you may need to remove the cheek weld (or buy a 0" rise cheek weld) in order to remove the bolt. If you want to use traditional sling swivels, then you'll either need the tools and confidence to drill/tap into the designated areas of the stock to install a couple of studs, or have a trusted friend or smith accomplish the task for you. I simply went around this issue by purchasing and installing the necessary hardware to use QD sling swivels.

Nice but heavy
The Magpul Hunter stock is an improvement over the flimsy factory stock of my Ruger American Predator. It looks good, gave me magazine feed, and did not affect accuracy (negatively or positively). My only complaint is the weight. My rifle is now at 9lbs, it was at 6lbs 14oz. You have to decide if the weight added is worth what you are gaining.

Will not feed
I bought two. One for 223 ranch and one for 6.5 predator. Stock is heavy and bolt will not pick up 223 round using Ruger 223 AICS mag. 6.5 creedmoor mag will not latch in. It falls out while shooting. Will ask for return.
