RUGER® 10/22® SHOCK BUFFER

RUGER® 10/22® SHOCK BUFFER Reviews & Ratings

Shock-absorbing polyurethane buffer replaces the bolt stop pin to eliminate metal-to-metal contact and extend receiver life. Cushions the bolt’s rearward motion to help prevent receiver cracking, reduce felt recoil, and enable quieter cycling.

SPECS: Polyurethane. Fits 10/22® in .22 LR only. This buffer may be manufactured in various colors but when properly installed it will not be visible.

Quite 10/22
These are great! If you are suppressed, try holding the bolt closed with your thumb and you will hear almost nothing, and achieve increased muzzle velocity. This is basically like a bolt-action, superior suppressor host feature, delaying follow-ups slightly...

Perfect fit
No more jams! fit like a glove. Easy to install. Makes the gun run quitter.

A must have replacement for Steel bolt
I always replace the OEM part with a polymer buffer which reduces wer and tear. For suppressed guns this buffer reduces the noise of the bolt as it cycles to the buffer.

Nice product
Nice to have item to provide frame longevity in a 10/22 style firearm. Not that the factory bolt stop is going to fail for a typical weekend shooter, but, having a semi-sacrificial bolt stop does reduce the metal on metal noise which, if you are looking for a quiet 22 for reducing the squirrel population while deer hunting (without spooking other game), this is the ticket. It needs to be twisted to get into the hole, as its polymer and not completely straight. But no big deal. Add some good gun oil and it will get softer after several hundred rounds, getting quieter.

Easy install
The one I received was a better fit than the factory installed seel buffer that fell out once receiver was removed from stock. Well made good fit.

Good product.
Easy to install and works as described.

Poor Quality Control, Uneven Ends
The buffer provided looks nothing like the picture and is jet black, it is cut too short and at an angle on one end. Really poor quality control... it will probalby do the job but will look unfitted.
2
too difficult to install
may work for the intended purpose, but way too difficult to install. they will never go back in when I remove them to remove bolt.

Not as good as it could be
It does the job, but just barley. Product came bent like a banana. Yeah that is common for these parts, but it is only common with the lower end versions, like this one. The good brand is perfectly straight. Oh, and the marketing pics show a yellow part, but the part that came is black like a PVC pipe or fuel hose. I would not have bought it if I knew it was made out of cheap material. Product is very dense, almost to the point of feeling, and acting like the stock steel version that this is intended to replace. When I first grabbed it out of the package, it felt brittle and cheap. After using all three of my hands to install it, I took it to the range, and found that it is just a slight improvement over the stock version. This product is not very good, comparing it with other brands, but it is just better than stock, and it does provide a very slight amount of recoil reduction over the stock buffer. Not worth my time, money, or extra money buying a good one after using this.
