Reviews Summary
The RUGER 10/22 Compensator is largely seen as an aesthetic enhancement, with many reviewers noting it fits well and looks good on their rifles. While some appreciate its noise-reducing qualities, others argue it offers little functionality, particularly for a .22 caliber. Overall, it's viewed as a decent accessory, but opinions on its value for money vary based on personal priorities.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Aesthetics
75%
Many customers purchased the compensator primarily for its visual appeal. They appreciate how it enhances the look of their rifles, with comments on it matching barrel color and being stylish. However, it's noted that while it looks good, those seeking pure functionality may find it lacking.
Functionality
70%
Reviewers have mixed feelings about the compensator's performance. While some note a reduction in noise akin to a suppressor, others criticize its ineffectiveness in managing recoil and muzzle rise. It's acknowledged that as a .22 caliber accessory, the compensator's contributions to functionality are limited.
Fit and Compatibility
60%
Several comments highlight that the compensator threads on well for specific barrels, though there are concerns about compatibility with certain Ruger models. Some users note gaps when fitted, suggesting that while it can be effective on certain models, it may have limitations with others.
Value for Money
55%
Opinions on whether the compensator is worth its price vary considerably. While some feel it adds significant aesthetic value, others argue that it is overpriced given its minimal functional benefits. Reviewers suggest it’s a purchase best suited for those who prioritize looks over performance.
Installation Issues
40%
Some reviews mention installation challenges, with one customer suggesting additional parts could help correct issues with spacing. Additionally, there are mentions of the compensator vibrating loose during use, which requires some users to apply Loctite for a secure fit.

Muzzle device
The transaction process was flawless and quick. The device is made quite well, it installed without any issues and looks amazing. Will update this review after a trip to the range.

Great addition
I purchased this comp with a TS AR 22 LR barrel and bolt conversion kit, and the difference was noticeable. First off it went on the barrel effortlessly, and mached the color of the barrel perfectly. I had to look very close to see where the barrel stoped and the comp began. Second the comp defusing the muzzle blast almost works like a suppressor with a pronounced reduction of noise. Overall it was a great addition to the TS kit

Quality Product
Excellent fit. Looks good.

Works Great
Works as advertised, it's a 22, it's not like the recoil needs taming.

Great Product
I bought this purely for cosmetic reasons to fit on the end of my Tactical solutions 10/22 barrel. I can't say it does much for recoil or muzzle rise, but it is a .22lr so I don't really care. Either way I am sure it is not hurting anything. It does look awesome though. If money is tight or you are trying to build on a budget, I would probably not spent the money for it. If you want your rifle to look really good and/or money is no object, I would certainly get it.

Work great and looks great
Threaded perfectly onto my new bull barrel and is it same diameter as the barrel. I would definitely recommend this .

This is probably way too late but...
It struck me as I read through the comments about this product that the spacing problem could be cured by threading a nut on the threads of the barrel, then the backing washer, then the compensator. That way, you can screw the nut in or out to orient the comp anywhere you like and you dont have to have a smith cut off the end of the barrel and recrown. Just my thoughts and if someone contacted the manufacturer about the problem, they would probably be happy to throw a matching nut in the package with the comp.

Almost perfect
This was purchased, primarily for aestectics, to replace the factory Mini-14 style cast iron muzzle brake included on my Ruger 10/22 "Tactical" carbine. The quality is top notch... and this thing is just perfect for a Browning Buckmark or Ruger 22/45 Lite with a threaded barrel, but as for my tacticool 10/22... ... unfortunately the female threading on this brake is about 1/4" too shallow, so that when it is fully threaded onto the barrel of my 10/22, there is a 1/8" gap between the rear of the brake and the factory muzzle brake washer. Remove the washer and the gap becomes almost 1/4" from brake to barrel step. Disappointing, though not the fault of TacSol or the brake itself, still very cool and perfect quality, and well worth the money, just realize it seems more intended for threaded pistol barrels, and may dissapoint you on the Ruger factory threaded barrels. I may have the barrel/threads shortened and re-crowned, if it doesn't cost too much more $$.

Pretty Piece / A Bit Uneccessary
I bought this to go along with my Tactical Solutions bull barrel. It threads on easily and looks nice. Doesn't really seem to compensate for much, it is a .22 after all. It does vibrate loose, so a drop or two of loctite is needed. It looks good, adds a little something to my customized 10/22, but does little to nothing as far as compensating. But then, I bought it more for looks than functionality anyway!
