Bought as backup
I had previously purchased this same kit to have on hand in case my 10-22 malfunctioned. I used the kit I had on hand to rebuild a 10-22 I had purchased to run suppressed.
2 for 1
One kit will fix two problems on older 10/22 , fail to fire and fail to eject . Very well made parts and good value.
Great Upgrade
Great upgrade for the original stamped firing kit of the 10/22. Smooth installation makes this a quick process although Rugers design is mostly to thank there. The firing pin and extractor upgrade work without fail round after round after round.
Eliminated my fail to feed/fail to eject
I installed this kit in my latest 10/22 small game 10/22 build and it really increased operational reliability.
10/22 quick repair
My 10/22 is an old 1974 vintage gun. It was starting to misfire. What was happening, the firing pin was hardly denting the rim and striking just the edge. The tip of the firing pin was worn, no longer a sharp point and where the hammer hit, it had slightly mushroomed. Also, the extractor was worn in the face, so when the firing pin would strike the rim, the cartridge would move forward sometimes causing light strikes. Probably the spring was weak too. These were all original Ruger parts. So I changed out the extractor, extractor spring and the firing pin with this kit. Super simple to change out. Worked great.
Quality parts
If you compare the Volquartsen hammer and extractor to the stock Ruger parts, you will see the difference immediately. The firing pin travels smoother within the Bolt channel, which should improve ignition reliability. The extractor also functions better. Neither are absolutely necessary, but they are very nice to have.
RECIEVED VOLQUARTSEN KIT
I DONT KNOW HOW I ORDERED A VOLQUARTSEN KIT BECAUSE THIER PARTS ARE USUALY OUT OF ALL NORMAL DIMENTIONS. THIS FIRING PIN HELD THE BOLT HANDLE UP AND CAUSED PROBLEMS. I
I MUCH PREFER THE PLAIN BROWNELL PARTS.
