Hard To Use
Several years ago I bought the N-frame barrel thread die. It has an outside diameter of 1.5" and is about .5" thick. This K-frame die has an outside diameter of 1" and is about .375" thick. Most of my use of these is to simply chase the threads to get rid of any small handling/storage dings and to clean up the area around the relief cut for the barrel pin. The set screw is turned most of the way in to minimize cutting, and I turn the die by hand. The larger size N-frame die is much easier to do this with. The N-frame tool is easier to hold onto, and I get a better feel for any resistance or roughness Also, the Allen head set screw in the K-frame die is tiny. It seems fragile compared to the N-frame. I won't go so far as to not recommend it, but it suffers compared with the N-frame.
