My 3rd and final follower
The follower that came stock with my 870 is a joke. I bought a machined metal follower and had friction/snagging issues when loading the tube. This is buttery smooth and the neon green is easily identifiable. The brand on the package is Wilson Combat, so I guess Scattergun Tech did some label slapping? Anyhow, highly recommended and possibly my best upgrade mod.
trim to size
used this on a junk bk aces semi s that needed more room, tube was sealed with a lip, that had me dancing a dremel to make it better. Was able to turn this down to make it run the tube in a smooth fashion. huge time saver and it works.
Love it
Nicely priced, the product itself is solid. I have an 870 express mag with dimples still on the tube (4shot), 5 minutes with a rounded file and the follower fell in without issue. Still have plenty of room in the tube and retain 4 shells in the mag.
Good item
Use in my 870, Buying another for my 1100. Hi-vis to see magazine is empty at a glance, and acts as a spring guide when spring is fully compressed. There is a reason why expensive mod. kits/shotguns come with this follower.
Works great!
This works great in my 870. I removed the dimples as I added a mag. tube extension. I have had no issues in several hundred rounds. It is solid and made of a tough plastic, not some brittle cheap feeling material. I am sure it will wear very well. The extended "tail" keeps it aligned properly in the spring. It doesn't limit my capacity of 2 3/4" shells.
Drags a Little
Fits old style magazine tubes without dimples. A little more resistant to sliding in the tube than I liked.
Magazine tube extension
I installed a 5 rd mag extension on my 870 and replaced the factory follower with this. One problem. the back edge was "too sharp" to pass where the detents had been. So, I took my Dremel and ground down the edge at an angle about an eighth of an inch. Works perfectly now!
pro and con
all is good with this follower except for the loss of one round in my extended magazine ( went from 7 plus one to 6 plus one), but i think if i cut and file off about half inch from the tail section of the follower, should get back my seventh round. great color and feel on empty mag.
Edgard Villa
Will fit some newer Remington 870 only with some minor "Dremel" fitting.
Not a Fan of Plastic Followers
So as you know remington's OEM follower is an orange plastic which is absolutely junk. granted this one is an upgraded version but yet again it's still plastic which eventually you will have to replace. to me this defeats the purpose of the upgrade why not go with it either CNCed aluminum follower or even a steel follower that will absolutely last you a lifetime and you'll never have to replace it and it's a great upgrade to your shotgun tube.
