Accurate
This was for my new 243 and I needed a Weaver mount to attach my scope that has Q D mount. Perfect fit. I recommend the 20 moa for long range.
EGW scope base for Remington 700 SA
Shipped quickly, excellent order tracking. Accurate fit for my Remington 700 SA. I would recommend the use of blue Loctite on the screw threads for added resistance to movement. Your set-up may be fine without it, but as they say...."an ounce of prevention...".
Good fit
This did just as advertised. Fit right on a Remington 700 SPS with no effort. Torqued to 20 inch pounds and it was solid. I have not received feedback on the 20MOA part of the mount, so more later.
Fantastic Base-I use on all my Rem 700's
I use these exclusively on all my Remington 700's. I run a small custom rifle shop and would highly recommend this product to anyone. 15 years Law Enforcement and avid Hunter and Target shooter... this base will literally do it all. For the money, there is none better!
A well made base
Before I ordered this base I read the other four reviews. The base arrived yesterday and the only way it could fit better would be if it had been custom made for my Rem 700 SA. This base is being installed on a live varmint rifle to get the scope back where it needs to be with the rings as far apart as possible which this base allows.
Re: the base being wrong
The Remington 700 action is the problem not the base. They turn the front ring of the receiver, they hand finish the rear and that is no where level as it should me. Another commenter here said you have to bed the scope mount and some times shim them with feeler gauge stock as I have had to do recently.
EGW bases work great.
I'm a machinist. I buy the EGW base because I can make one like it but it's gonna take more time than this unit costs. I can tell you from using machinists measuring tools that every one I have seen has been 100% GTG. The Remington 700 action? Not so much. You often have to bed a base in because the receiver is out of spec. Also of note - the self centering screws that come with the EGW do a great job of preventing movement. I've never seen an EGW base move.

Does NOT fit XP-100 without milling
I bought this for an XP-100 silhouette gun. These guns have only 1 hole in the rear ring and the mount has 2 holes leaving about .500 hanging off the back of the receiver, which keeps the bolt handle from closing. I had to mill .500 off the back of the mount to get it to fit properly.
