Just what I needed.
This great quality and easy attachment.
Good quality for a low price.
Very sturdy construction, and the quick release mechanism is very usable while still being quite hard to accidentally open. The glass is crystal clear and the view through is nearly edge to edge. The eye relief takes some getting used to, but it's far from the worst in that regards, and even plenty close to the best at 2.2". I have this paired with a Holosun reticle, and it's fantastic. I may some day also trying Holosun's 3x magnifier to see if the reported 2.75" eye relief makes any noticeable difference, but even so I'd never replace this Vortex.
Good equipment
I have been running this sight for 3 years plus with a Strikefire 2, and it has helped put the hurt on many a pig. I've also used it in 3 gun comps and never had an issue. It stays put, gives me the distance when needed and rolls out of the way when I don't need it. Durability is good, I've dragged it in and out of the truck and buggy, river bottoms and thickets countless times and still cleans up good and delivers for a match at the range.
A Quality Magnifier
I'm not sure what the negative reviews are about. This magnifier clears my Magpul backup sight and flips out of the way if I would need to use it. The mount is sturdy and I have had no play or wobble of any kind. The push button easily flips up and lowers the magnifier. The magnifier is nitrogen filled to prevent internal fogging. It provides a fixed 3X magnification and includes two adjustment turrets to center the red dot in the magnifier. Wherever the red dot is placed is where the bullet will impact, regardless of where you see it within the tube of the magnifier. Vortex makes great products for a lot less money than the other big manufacturers.
not bad for the money
I purchased this magnifier to pair up to my vortex red dot. seeing that It is half the price of other brands, its not bad for the money. the clamp that tightens to the rail still had a little wobble even after tightening all the way down. I put a shim in and that took care of the problem, but I don't feel that I should of had to resort to that. all in all not bad but I wish I had just waited and saved my money for a ACOG
Bad eye relief
If you plan to mount this in front of a flip up sight, then plan to kiss the charging handle and eat gas. Eye relief is so short that it won't work correctly unless stock is collapsed all the way. If you don't want to use a BUIS then you are good.
