Great functioning
I was doing a Glock 19 build and the OEM spring was too strong. So I got the Wolff 17 pound spring kit and this guide rod. All metal rod. The spring slips over the rod and is installed much like the 1911's spring and rod. At the range the weapon functioned flawlessly. I've stripped down the slide many times and the spring and guide rod remained in place. Liked it so much I bought a second one.

I like it !
Bought my first Glock in 1992, a mod.19. I now have 4 Glocks. I have replace the factory plastic guide rod in all. I like this setup the best.Put it in my mod. 20, as it uses Wolff spring and they hard to beat. Clean and easy install. I went with factory weight Wolff springs for Glock 20-21, works great !

G21SF
Replaced the OEM plastic captured guide rod with this and a Wolff standard weight recoil spring. It has worked perfectly with around 200 rounds through the weapon. Slide movement feels much smoother with this installed; waiting for one to put in my G19 now.

Gock 17 guide rod non-captured (Wolff)
Simply awesome. Greater than 50 Rockwell hardness and indestructable. I know because it didn't break while in Afghanistan. The glock 17 has + 30000 rds and still going strong. I also used the wolff spring that goes with it. The plastic spring and rod system from glock doesn't last especially in temperatures past 45 deg C with some shooting abuse.
