Good idea... but they wont fit a 22cal barrel
I purchased these to use with JB bore cleaner and Kroil for my 223. The patches are supposed to be for 22-25 cal. They do not fit on a jag in the 224 bore without cutting the patch down. I did not try them on larger calibers.
My first disappointment from Brownells
Entirely too thick to go down the bore in my 9mms. Maybe with an undersized jag I can use in my 10mms..... not a bad little scrubber pad...... Knew I made a mistake the second I hit purchase and turned around and purchased my usual #3 1.75 round patches which I love..... No way to cancel order....... Waste of $20 !
too large for 22 cal
Although these are extremely nice patches, very robust and absorbent and I could see them doing a very good job at cleaning, they are simply too large for a 22 cal bore. User be warned, you may damage your barrel trying to ram them down the bore. I tried a jag and a loop attachment, even tried trimming the sides off to form a square, no dice. They are just sized incorrectly.
Did not fit in 3 45 ACP Barrels
These patches are very thick, as a result they would not fit using a properly sized jag in a spec 45 ACP barrel. Listing shows .45 - .50. I double check the SKU, and I received the correct patches. If you have a .50 barrel these may work, but I would try some first. The good thing is Brownells stands behind their product. I wish the MIL-SPEC 45 ACP patches were still being sold. Those were perfect.
