Colt Python
Dealing with Brownells was great. The python is a classic. Fit and finish is great. Very accurate. Single action pull is awfull 5+ lbs. Double action is a smooth 8.5 lbs. In a world where good double action triggers are medium width, smooth and rounded, Colt gives us a trigger that is narrow, sharp edged with grooves. The stock grips do not work with speedloaders. My python was missing the spring and plunger that keep the transfer bar from hanging up on the firing pin and is currently at the factory for a fix. We shall see. Hogue grips, wilson combat sights and a rounded trigger are in my future.

New Production Colt
The Python revolver has been the flagship of Colt wheel guns for decades. The new one I ordered in for a customer (3" Blue) is GOOD, but in my opinion not quite up to par as to overall fit, and finish with the Pythons produced before 1960. Still, a good solid choice for a very usable revolver in today's marketplace. Bottom Line, yes I would recommend the product.

Isn't what it ought to be.
New 2020 Colt 3" Python has problems. The rear sight body moves in the frame channel and the blade moves in the sight body channel. The sight blade and screw fell out while dry firing. The front sight leans to the right. The single action trigger pull is greater than my vintage Ohaus trigger scale will measure. Probably greater than 6 pounds. Double action is smooth but also very heavy. Mostly a good revolver but the important things need work. Wilson Combat sights are on order.
