Must have
Again , must have . Shorty shells will tumble and jam without this simple yet ingenious little block of rubber . Installs easily and increases round count substantially. Color me impressed yet skeptical. I myself have this device in a “shockwave” which rarely leaves the comfort of home . Popped the mini-clip in during warm summer days and function tested with glee ! Worked as advertised. Grabbed a second, and a bunch more shortys, just in case . Cold weather will tell the tale for sure, if it falls out or breaks , no problem the spare will never see snow.
Would you recommend this?
Yes, I would recommend to a friend
1-3/4"
These work great, I put a piece of good tape on mine to keep it in place..
This is a well done product
I bought this purely on speculation to extend the utility of a Mossburg 590 Shockwave and a standard 500. I expected cheap plastic that would break quickly, so I ordered 2. I'm an engineer of over 40yrs, and the product is really quite well made in my opinion. The "plastic" is actually a pliable engineering polymer that has enough give for easy installation, but seems fairly rugged. I had planned on them as consumables, but the two will likely last me for years. I do not yet have many rounds through them, but, so far so good. And, as usual, Brownells provided excellent service on the order.
Great in my 500 for factory mini shells!
I bought the mini clip for my Mossberg 500 to use the Federal and Aguila 1-3/4 mini shells. Its a cheap part that makes your 12 gauge cycle those short shells reliably. Theres absolutely nothing I have to complain about this product. If you own a Mossberg pump action shotgun and want to use the factory 1-3/4 shells(thats the pre-crimped hull length, loaded length is about 1-3/8), then I recommend this little clip for reliability. Only draw back is you cant use full length shells when the clip is installed, so youre gonna have to stick with the minis while installed, and pull it out to go back to normal lengths. BUT if you know how to load your own 12 gauge ammunition and have the components to make them. If you cut old range hulls or new hulls down to 2 and roll crimp the shells to about 1-3/4 loaded overall length. My Mossberg 500 will cycle those without the clip, amazingly reliably. In fact Im pretty impressed with how well it cycles my 2 mini loads. So not taking away from the mini clip itself. Its great and makes those ITTY BITTY shorty shells run like clock work. Just throwing a FYI about how well my MOSSY eats trimmed down 2 roll crimped hulls. Cant get as many as the factory minis in the tube, but its close. The OpSol mini clip has its place, does exactly what it says it does and well. And Im glad I have a OpSol mini clip. Because I load those super shorty shells also. ;)
As advertised
Used in Mossberg Maverick and it was simple to install. Works as advertised.
Exceeds expectations, great service
Easy to install and remove, but when installed sits in place firmly. Service by Brownells was great.
excellent addition
Excellent product. It came on time and well packaged. Allows for practice and fun shooting at range w/o beating you up by using lighter mini loads. It increases the capacity for home defense.
Great product.
Great product for Shockwave, now all I need is ammo/shot shells to test it out.
Excellent Quality Easy to Install
This arrived much quicker than expected living up here in QC, Canada. Was simple to install and now I need to run a few rounds thru it for the real test. I have great faith. I wanted this for my modified Mossberg 500 for security purposes. I hope to never need it, but felt the mini shells are more than adiquent after seeing the test results on You tube.
opsol mini-clip 2.0
put it in my mossberg 590 shockwave , what a money saver on shells' i had a bit of a hard time putting it in the first time, once i did it .it became easy,i also put a lazar on and had a ball ripped a couple paper targets in no time this is great for home defense. i shot some bird shot and a lot more buck shot prefer the buck shot . recommend for home defense and just plain fun shooting.
