Perfect Fit
Works perfect in my Lightweight Officers Model which has a .250" diameter full length guide rod with zero modifications.
Good parts, needed fitting thought
I have a Springfield 1911 V10UC-ported Officers model with bull barrel, the spring did not fit as a drop-in part. I had to do some fitting to make it fit the plunger, no big deal I don't like sloppy a fit anyway. Fired the gun several hundred times without any issues, its much stiffer than the original spring but that maybe because the new spring is about 1 1/2 coils longer.
Not for full length guide rods
I cannot attest to the spring itself since I cannot install it. Although it certainly appears sturdy. I had a Wilson guide install on my Colt Officer's (I don't know why other than it was a good idea at the time.) In any case the spring is designed to work with a standard Colt recoil spring guide. No guide rods.
Doesn't fit
Got this cause it was recommended for my RIA 1911 Compact. The spring tapers at one end and it is impossible to use without getting it adjusted as the plunger won't fit all the way through the spring.
Terrible Performance
I purchased this spring to replace the OEM spring in a Colt MK IV Series 80 Officers ACP which I recently inherited. Prior to replacing the spring, the gun was having a failure to feed about once in every 20 to 25 shots. After installing this spring, the gun is experiencing failures to feed or eject about every 4 or 5 rounds. Even had one fired round jammed back into the chamber backwards! Rounds are ejecting so fast that they bounce around in the range stall like a ball in a pinball machine. I am also noticing that there's a lot more powder residue blowing back onto the rear of the slide. I'm guessing what they call a "Standard" spring is not nearly strong enough. I'll be contacting customer service to see if I can exchange for the 24# spring they have listed.
does not fit/work
According to Wolff's website this spring should work on a Springfield Ultra Compact, it doesn't. I bought this spring to replace the existing recoil spring. I took the spring off my guid rod and only the big end of this fits on the guide rod. This spring is longer that the stock spring. I then can't get the buffer to compress all the way on the spring because the small end is way to small and won't let the guide rod pass through it to get through the bushing.
