Perfect Upgrade
I’ve been using 3M active earplugs for Sporting Clays for a couple of years. They work great and for someone with normal hearing; they should be all you need. Unfortunately, my hearing is impaired such that the highest volume setting on my 3M plugs isn’t enough.
Although the Otto plugs have only two volume settings (normal and high), I find that the normal setting is usually loud enough and the high setting is plenty even with a lot of background noise. Perfect.

Pricey but worth it.
I have several pair of similar type ear pro from another company. Based on what I paid for them I could have gotten Otto the first time. And maybe had a few dollars left in my pocket too.

One of the best treats for yoursel👌f
If not on a vest, wear on a pair of suspenders in front of you. One add on, I obviously would add a solar panel. I used a Samsung flexible one and 3M 'd it to the top of the case which was hovering in a mesh pouch, or my zip port. So having 2 usb cords to power up is main! Also not having a Kevlar with extra pads and mics for my helmet was the norm. Now, wanting to keep these in between jobs then the garage or vaults seems like it's time to fight insurance for being blind and deaf now!! Lol
These earbuds are amazing!!!!
I asked several competitive shooter friends what the best wireless earpro earbuds are and these were the general consensus. All I can say is they are the best earpro I've owned in years. I don't even need to couble up on earpro because they work so well. I've had to do that with other ear buds. They are a bit pricy, but I'll pay that to get exactly what I need for competitive shooting. And Brownells got them to me so fast!!! I do love Brownell's speed and customer service. Thanks again.
These are great
My favorite ear pro to date. I wear them shooting and on the farm all the time. I about cried when I left them in the pocket of a jacket and sent them through the laundry. The case is definitely not waterproof. Lol. Instantly bought another set.
Outstanding comfort and performance
Outstanding electronic ear plugs. I used the foam ear tips for better sound reduction and they are very comfortable. I just wore them for two days in a two day NRL match. Comfort and sound attenuation were outstanding. I had it set on the lower noise setting and was comfortable around muzzle braked centerfire rifles. The quality of the electronic sound compression is excellent. They seem well constructed, one of the match days was in the rain and hail and the wet weather did not affect them. The design of the case which recharges the ear plugs is also excellent with excellent battery capacity so you shouldn't need to recharge the charging case very often.
Lightweight performance
Recommended to me by another uspsa shooter. Long battery life, have not had them for a full competition but many report hours of life on the buds themselves. - After two hours they were at 80 and 90% life. - For the case battery Ive only needed to charge it once. Have been to the range 8-9 times in the last month and case battery is still at 80% Auto shutoff when placed back in the case to charge, so they are ready to go the next time you shoot. I use them indoor with comply foam tips. Even next to rifles Ive had no issues. Had my father try compared to his walkers and the Peltor sports and not only is the electric cutout much more refined/ less abrupt, they are infinitely more comfortable. Have not had any worries about slipping out. He bought his own set after one range trip. Probably not as popular due to the price but they have been worth every penny. Surprised the smith busters havent had a video on these. Only wish would be for a Bluetooth option.
So far so good...
I have not taken them to the range yet to really test them out, however, the build quality looks good. I'm impressed with the sound quality in both mode1 and mode2.... especially mode2. It feels as if I can hear an ant fart 50 feet away. I did call tech support for some clarification on how to properly insert the plugs to avoid feedback and they were very helpful in going over the capabilities of these ear plugs. These are my first electronic ear plugs and Im very impressed so far and hopefully they will be my go to ear protection for the years to come.
Bad battery won't replace 1 month past warranty
I was impressed by the sound quality and the performance of it and I like the fact that it was rechargeable instead of using hearing aid batteries. However, at 13 months one ear bud would last for 5 to 6 hours and still have 30% left and the other earbud would only last 30 minutes before it died completely. I called Otto and customer service informed me after escalating it that because it was one month beyond warranty, they would not replace the one earbud that I was hoping to have replaced given the rest of the unit was fine. Now I'm moving onto Sound Gear!
