The MK18 RIII™ AR15 style Upper Receiver Group is unmatched in size, weight, and performance, and is built around a 10.3 inch Cold Hammer Forged M4 Profile barrel and a carbine length gas system. It features a 9.5 inch lightweight RIS III rail—modeled after the revolutionary RIS II two-piece handguard developed for SOCOM— which features M-LOK attachment for lighter weight.

Beautiful upper, feels robust and out of the box clean. I have not completed my MK18 upper but I've done a thorough visual inspection and it's really built well. I'll know down the road how it works on the range but as for now, this was a great purchase. My only smack-on-the-back-of-my-head is that I purchased it on Father's Day Sale, and the 4th of July just came in and it brings a deeper discount. That's on me! Haha

MK18 RIII 5.56X45MM STRIPPED URG

Put this on my DD M4 V7 LR with a 5" suppressor for CQB drills and tactical matches and love it! Also works on my DD PDW LR. The 2 piece design is heavier than a monolithic rail, which is helpful managing muzzle rise but does slightly offset the advantages of a shorter URG if one is looking for ultra fast target transitions. As this URG is intended to work with any manufacture's mil spec lower, the tolerances are a tad looser and I use a ~1mm (single sheet of 24 lb printer paper) as a wedge on the DR M4 V7 lower (nearing 10K rounds) whereas the newer DD PDW lower (500 rounds) mates perfectly.
