Ultimak scope mount
I haven't installed the mount and right now I'm not sure I'm not going to return it. While very well made, I have major issues with the design: lack of adequate ventilation slots and the exposed operating rod. I was wondering if the exposed operating rod would make up for the lack of ventilation slots, but another review suggests that isn't so. I have to wonder why the rail doesn't extend further back? This would allow the forward section to be slotted for ventilation like the factory composite hand guard. My slightly used Mini came with both original wooden hand guard (it showed signs of heat damage) and the later composite item. . I used my Mini in tactical competition with an Aimpoint on a B-Square mount. Awkward, but it works. i can also recall the sight of lubricant smoke rising from the fore end area on certain stages of extended rapid fife.I expect this product is aimed at the hunting/target community rather than those who may indulge in high round count shooting. Any recommendation would depend upon intended usage.
