My used 585 series mini 14 tactical came with several aftermarket brand magazines. I understand now why the previous owner gave up on this rifle. I use only Ruger branded magazines and every one works flawlessly every single time. I only use the 20 round versions and have runs thousands of rounds of only factory made name brand ammunition and have experienced zero malfunctions of any kind. I will not chance aftermarket products just to save a few pennies when I can faithfully depend on the Ruger brand magazines.

Original Equipment Works the Best
I bought 2 of these since my state does not allow a 20 round magazine. Receiving OEM parts was comforting to me. I know they will be dependable.

I have had nothing but problems with aftermarket magazines for my Mini-14. These factory Ruger magazines are the only ones that perform flawlessly. They are somewhat hard to get, so have Brownells contact you when they are in stock.
5rd. good fit and function
The 5rd. mag did fit in my series 180 mini 14. Inserts and ejects easily and flush fit to bottom of rifle.

Ok I might have learned my lesson trying other manufacturers magazines for the Mini 14. They don't work or they don't fit properly. I am sticking with the factory magazines in the 20 round capacity as they seem to be the most reliable and fit properly. If you want them to work and fit well, buy the Ruger factory magazines. They work the best.
