MICRO T-2 RED DOT REFLEX SIGHT Reviews & Ratings

MICRO T-2 RED DOT REFLEX SIGHT

The Aimpoint® Micro T-2 red dot optic was designed for users who require an extremely rugged, lightweight, and compact sight. The Micro T-2™ optic has unmatched optical clarity and can withstand the physical abuse necessary for demanding end-users. New innovative lenses with cutting-edge reflective coatings, radically improve the shape and clarity of the 2 MOA dot. ACET technology allows 50,000 hours (over 5 years) of constant operation with one CR2032 battery on setting 8.

The Micro T-2 optic features recessed lenses with protective flip-up lens covers. The front cover is solid, and rear is transparent – allowing the user to shoot with both eyes open while the lens caps are closed in an emergency situation. The sight housing is constructed of hard-anodized aluminum alloy for optimal protection of the electronic and optical components in all types of environmental conditions. Aimpoint 3XMag-1™ and 6XMag-1™ magnifiers and all generations of night vision devices pair perfectly with the Micro T-2 sight. This optic is sold without a mount. A wide variety of Aimpoint Micro mounts are available through the Official Aimpoint store.

Aimpoint red dot sights are operationally parallax-free, which means the visible dot remains parallel to the bore of your weapon no matter what angle your eye is in relation to the sight. Therefore, the user never has to worry about centering the dot inside the sight. If you have a proper zero, when the dot is on the target, so are you. Aimpoint red dot sights increase confidence by allowing the shooter to focus on the target while keeping both eyes open, fully situationally aware at all times. Users can achieve first round hits faster with greater confidence.

As Good As it Gets for a Dot Sight
I decided to spend the money on this and couldn't be happier. Extremely durable and very long battery life make it the perfect red dot. The light weight of it makes it worth even more, in my opinion. I use it in conjunction with a Larue mount and am very satisfied.

Solid optic
A little pricey for a shotgun optic. Purchased the Micro T2 for my Mossberg 590a1. It's on a American Defense low mount with a titanium quick release lever. Solid performance with buckshots even 3" shells and high velocity slugs. Two things come to mind. It would be spot on if it had shake awake technology. But battery life advertised is a good work around. The other is that the 2 moa dot only becomes comfortably visible at about setting 8 in a lowly lit room. It washed out a little with my weapons light. I believe the first 5 settings are for NV. This leaves 4 settings on the upper range. My 590a1 is strictly a home defense piece. T2 comes with lens covers. I replaced the front solid one with a clear cover. The rear is a clear cover.

It's awesome
I mounted this on my DP-12 shotgun. That only took a few minutes. I loaded my DP-12 with slugs in the right barrel and 00 in the left. It sighted in quick and easy with dead zero on the right barrel at 40 yds. It's the best red dot sight I've used to date. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Great red dot
Abousoulty love these sights. I haven't shut my first T2 sight off sense I got it at the beginning of September last year and it's still running. It's light weight, looks sleack, has a very crisp 2 moa dot, Still holds zero after the 1,000+ rounds I've shot with it so far, and if you've ever seen the Daniel Defense torture test with Larry Vickers you know the T1 is durable and the T2 is supposed to be even more durable yet. I used to have EO-Tech but Have sense gotten rid of them and picked up another T2 and an H2. bottom line is these red dots are fantastic. And if you appreciate the craftsmanship and care that goes into aimpoint it's well worth the price.

Tilted Lens
I was a little disappointing when I first received the sight and noticed that the front lens had been installed wrong. It appeared to be tilted back slightly. Luckily before I returned the sight I talked with one of the Gunsmiths at Brownells and they mentioned that the tilted lens is part of the design. The tilt is needed to reflect the dot image back to your eye. Pretty silly on my part but overall this optic has been fantastic. No sharp edges to snag, nice clear image and doesn't take up much rail space.

Worth it...
As an owner of several brands and models of red dot optics, I was hesitant to drop the coin on this - but I mean, come on! It's the new Aimpoint Micro! Side by side with my T-1, it is noticeable clearer. There is no tint to the glass and the dot is a perfect circle, unlike the oval that I'm used to. They didn't just re-design the body. Don't fool yourself. Stop being cheap. If you want the best, you have to pay for it. This is the best. Hands down.

Is this thing on?
My only complaint on this optic is the brightness settings and dial. No in between settings so have to go from 0 al the way to 10 before even becomes visible (this was verified by others as well). 11 setting is ok, 12 will burn your eyes out. No in between like most other optics. Most of the adjustments seem to be geared towards having night vision. Other than that this is a awesome red dot cant go wrong! Plus buying from Brownells you know your getting the right product.

Defective Switch
Historically, I am an Aimpoint fan with several different models. Switch on this one was defective on receipt. I have returned it and am awaiting a replacement.
