Marlin 336 Takedown screw - great

Quick takedown screw

The screw fit my Marlin 336 just fine. Nice to have to do a quick cleaning.

Handy Marlin accessory

Fitted to a 336 444Marlin to replace the standard lever pivot screw. Much more convenient to remove lever and bolt for cleaning from breech end or rifle maintenance. Low profile dosen't snag or come loose. I have another on a Marlin 336 30-30 and it works just as well. An excellent and cheap up-grade.

Product seems to be well made but for my 2009 Marlin 336 in 35 rem it's too big. Not about to froce it and strip my action.So into the parts box it goes.

Ok but room for improvement

Purchased for Smith 1854. It fit fine. Easy to screw out by hand. However after it screwed in it sticks out enough to be noticeable and could snag on something.

Like others, it doesn't fit

I gambled thinking this would fit my Marlin and that the other negative reviews were a one-off. I wanted it to work, but it doesn't. I've tried it in both of my Marlins and the threads do not match. Brownells makes it impossible to return it. The message I get is that neither the order number nor my email match their records. Seriiously?!

cool idea, but......!

I had a bad experience with this screw. I should have taken heed to previous reviews. It WILL NOT fit. The outer thread diameter is too wide. I will not resort to forcing this thing into my prized reciever with channel locks or vice grips. Still waiting patiently for that refund. Sorry, but you asked for my feedback.
