Good equipment
As far as after market sights go for the Marlin 1895 there isn't a better option. Upon opening the factory packaging the rear sight was centered for windage & elevation. Upon installation on the Marlin the windage was perfectly centered with the elevation slightly low for my load. Following the instructions got a good zero with a single adjustment. I found the larger aperture acceptable & never installed the included small aperture. I took 1 shot this elk season & made a solid vital hit @ 200m using this sight with the larger aperture. SIghting is quick & accuracy Installation is quick & painless. The manufacturer's tolerances on this sight allow plenty of windage & elevation adjustment if your rifle's receiver is set up properly. Again, for this model of rifle there is not a better option available and that's what puts this as a 5 star rating per Brownell's rating guidelines. I can't see how user error rates a 1 star rating..

Use care in adjusting the sight .
I bought this sight years back. I took it out to the range after fitting it to the rifle. It fit well. However, when I tried to adjust it, I had to drift it almost all the way left. Because my small screw driver had to go half way through the sight, I ended up fouling the small threads deep in the adjustment hole and was not able to back the sight out again. Be real careful with the size of screw driver as it goes further into the adjustment hole. The sight is now ruined.
