Great tool
Nice not to destroy the finish when attempting to remove a nut.
It worked perfectly.
Is the price steep for a tool you'll likely never use more than once? Yes, but it will do the job perfectly and with minimal effort on your part while leaving zero ware on your overtightened mag nut.
The non-scratching pliers for loosening shotgun magazine caps and/or extension tubes
The non-scratching pliers for loosening shotgun magazine caps and/or extension tubes. Most new shotguns are fitted with a device that pervents the cap from loosening during use which also prevents hand loosening. Sure we use a pair of slip joint pliers with a rag to prevent damage until we forget the rag, scar the cap and cut our thump on the deformity. These pliers have replaceable plastic jaws that work really well.
Mag cap pliers
Worked great
Perfect for shotgun magazine tube caps.
I am a 12 gauge enthusiast and magazine tube caps tend to come loose under heavy use. While this tool does lack in quality it is the perfect size and shape for the task of getting the magazine tube cap tight. It also comes in handy when a tight cap needs to be removed. The replaceable plastic inserts are a nice touch, work well, and are holding up under use.
Shotgunner's Must-have
I always used to worry about marring up guns, especially shotgun mag-tube caps so this was an answer to a pretty common problem. Yes, the jaws can get worn out, but they make replacements, however I haven't had to replace them yet and I've done over 100 guns with this thing. Of course once you get to that "holy crap" level of tightness it gives way without marring the gun and then you can go for the heat gun and oil alternatives. I was taking a chance with no reviews on it but I'd buy it again if I needed a second one.
