Spare small items
These will come in handy. I don't understand how these little pins dissappear from my bench. I'll probably find a dozen of these one day. Refugees from my bench...

A Must Have !
Better keep a few in your small parts box. Good quality retaining pins. I like the fact they come in the five pack. Thanks, Brownells, for offering small parts at great prices!

A well made Firing pin retainer!
It was simple to install (in line with the BCG, or its going to be tough). It doesn't feel flimsy or flex ominously like an untreated 3/32 cotter pin, I bought a handful of these things because I want to keep a few spares with all my rifles. (Yet another use for the often neglected ranger band. I've seena few people put them on their Dog tag chains too.) It's literally the most critical component to an AR-15 and is often lost or removed improperly causing it to break (Which happened to me). CMMG also has a pretty strong reputation for making quality rifles and parts for building with, so I felt this purchase would be well worth the money since reputation does have a strong hold on this industry. My only issue is that the firing pin retainer is dark so if I drop it its going to be difficult to find. But that should just teach me to service my rifle on a proper mat instead of off it. Thank you for making a great product. They are packed a single pin retainer per purchase.

fits if I crimp down the open end spread
this is what a retainer is supposed to be like stregth wise. Only problem I always have is most of the BCG's made that are not pure mil spec (read forgiving) the split end opposite the insertion hole is smaller, and this pin comes with a slght spread at the open end and both ends are the same size. I actually use a Dremel cut off wheel to take about 1/16th off one of the pin ends then it inserts nice and tight. That is the only reason I gave it a 4 otherwise it is a 5. A new complete BCG the retainer always has a slightly shorter pin end. I would reccommend buying this however as they are not always easy to find! Don't risk your life on a hardware store cotter pin although for recreational shooting they work
