Good Value
Good value, drop-in worked just fine. I only put about 25 round on it, and noticed no abnormal wear spots. Weirdly enough, the lugs are slightly more narrow than my Colt 6920 lugs, but less lug width variation (Colt lug 2.59mm 0.0418mm; Brownell lug 2.58mm 0.0171mm). Lug length is pretty much spot on with Colt (hence no headspace issues). I suspect this will actually help bolt longevity with more even force distribution across all the bolt lugs. Only thing I'd want is some sort of stamp, mark, or something to identify the bolt and carrier, even just a tiny "B" stamped in it. A printed MP mark only goes so far.
Good value, 4.5 out of 5 stars
First off, I'd have to say Brownells service has always been good, they may not always ship fast, but it is very reasonable and they always offer competitive pricing. This is my opinion so take it how you will, Toolcraft is my GO TO bargain BCG. They are proven and have great warranties. I decided to grab a brownell's BCG this time, and I do not regret it. I have not function tested this BCG, if my opinion changes I will update this review, but if it remains the same months or years from now, it is still valid and I will not edit it. So if you're wondering why the 4 star review, actually it's 4.5 if I am being nitpicking. Pros: - Looks good, coating is consistent and smooth. - Nitride coating, so easier to clean than the old phosphate ones. - Lifetime warranty from Brownells - Good price, especially because brownell often runs sales and occasionally free shipping with no minimum. Con: - this is my only con, it has more tool markings than comparable brand (toolcraft). This does not have anything to do with function, but craftsmanship reflects quality in my opinion. I do not believe this is a renamed Toolcraft BCG, but I can be wrong. The bolt has different markings. For comparison sake, I have uploaded a few images highlighting the machining that I mentioned as a con, as well as the different markings. The top BCG is a lightly used Nitride Toolcraft (greased and shows a bit of wear) and the bottom is a brand new Brownell's BCG. Overall I am very happy with the BCG I received, I am only being extra critical for review purposes, I do believe the BCG is well made, and should handle more ammo than I intend to shoot out of it. Again, Thanks Brownell's I am glad you guys are offering lots of in house brands for us at home gunsmiths, and at a bargain price.
