A++
A++. Shooting 1" 10 shot groups with varger and 108 eldm. I lost count how many critters my boy has killed with it. I keep wanting to build another but man have they jacked the price on this unit.

5/8 x 24
I would like to confirm that the thread pitch for the muzzle threads are actually 5/8 x 24. I recently recieved my barreled action and the 1/2 x 28 hun adapter would not fit. I Had to use my 5/8 x 24 to mount my suppressor.

A great foundation for a precision rifle
I installed this 6mm ARC carbon barreled action into a JTAC Industries Elf Owl chassis. The combo of the 20” very lightweight barrel and the Elf Owl makes for an extremely fun and light weight precision rifle. With the Elf Owl stock pushed in the rifle can fit inside a long backpack type range bag and weighs almost nothing. The lighter weight is great with the 6 ARC since there is almost no recoil. With a suppressor it’s like firing a BB gun. In terms of accuracy, I fired some Hornady match through it and it was grouping between 0.75 and 1 inch. It’s a really well made rifle for not a huge amount of cash. Can’t wait to try out some reloads in it.
Good Value
5/8x24 Muzzle Threads. ****Description is wrong****
There are better Howa Offerings
This Howa mini looks and feels sweet. I bedded it into a VG Carbon Stock. You should be aware this barrel won’t fit a Stockys Tactical inlet, it’s too fat. Lots of rasp work fixed that. Precision wasn’t great off bags. 1.5 MOA 5 round groups with factory and hand loads. Also the action isn’t smooth like other makers, it’s definitely a little rough and could use an oversized bolt knob to overcome that.
Anyway, I decided to scope the crown to see how that looked and it isn’t impressive. Just a cheap cone shape, super dull, and the cutter had a burr that put a groove around the entire circumference of the crown. Maybe that’s why this gun doesn’t shoot well. I’ll probably recrown it at some point to find out.
I like the mini action (except the roughness) but paying double for a poorly made carbon wrap barrel was dumb. It doesn’t save a ton of weight and I wouldn’t be out 400 bucks if I have to screw a good barrel on it. To make it shoot.
Wouldnt buy again
Was excited to get this barreled action and put a gun together. Was pretty disappointed I had to send back to Legacy because many factory rounds wouldnt chamber. Everyone makes mistakes so I figured they'd fix it and send it back, no harm no foul. Until i recieved it back. First round wouldnt chamber still. 2 out of 6 didnt. I guess the gunsmith tried 2 rounds, 2 empty cases were returned, and called it good. Says he lapped and tested it. So basically seems like he spent a few minutes on it and didnt actually check the head space. Pretty poor service if you ask me. Guess ill just go back to buying ruger americans and save my money. Never again will Howa get my money.
Howa Mini Action in 6mm ARC
Received my barreled action in a very timely manner, fortunately it looks to be in excellent shape. My complaint is the extraordinarily poor packaging it came in. The action was loose in the box, very poorly wrapped and padded, it is a small miracle it wasn
