M1500 6.5 PRC LA THREADED BARRELED ACTION

Howa's M1500 barreled action chambered for the long-range 6.5 PRC (6.5mm Precision Rifle Cartridge) round brings nearly AR-15-like modularity and ease of assembly to the traditional bolt action platform. Fully assembled with the barrel chambered, installed, and properly headspaced, it eliminates the most difficult work in building your own bolt action rifle. Install it in the long-action (LA) stock or chassis system of your choice to form a high-quality long-range rifle at a very affordable cost.

"Standard equipment" on the Howa M1500 6.5 PRC barreled action includes a one-piece bolt body with two locking lugs and an integral bolt handle. The bolt face is precisely squared to the barrel chamber for excellent contact with the receiver recess. An M16-style extractor ensures reliable, positive extraction. A full-length bottom metal with hinged floorplate, magazine box, mag spring, and front/rear action screws are part of the package. The receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope base.

The potential of a cartridge like the .6.5 PRC would be wasted on a rifle with a plain factory trigger, so you get Howa's HACT two-stage trigger that delivers a "de-LIGHTful" consistent pull, and a crisp let-off. The "Howa Actuator Controlled Trigger" has a uniquely configured sear and precision-cut contact surfaces, so creep is entirely eliminated. A three-position safety allows the bolt to be completely locked and also enables the action to be unloaded while on safe. FFL required for purchase.

Very nice

I purchased two of these in 6.5 PRC. My favorite is mounted in a B&C carbon stock. This particular rifle loves 130 grain Accubonds launched at approx 3100fps. Sub moa. Have used successfully on deer and hogs out to 300 yards so far.

I purchased this in the shorter barrel version! I dropped it into a Stocky stocks carbon fiber stock. I ended up with a sweet rifle at a very reasonable price. Thanks brownells.

Wrong muzzle advertised on the standard contoured barrel. The standard contour barrel comes with 1/2X28" threading.

Like the action. As with most guns, it doesn't hurt to take it down and clean/oil it up when you get it. It actually comes with 1/2 - 28 threading. Put an adapter on and problem solved. Wish they had a regular target barrel version.

6.5 PRC review

I purchased a Howa barreled action in 6.5PRC. It looks unfinished! The bolt feels and works like it was dipped in sand. I wont purchase another Howa barreled action and I dont reccomend this product.
