Howa 1500!!
These barreled actions are such a great example of a budget, semi custom, canvas for your next build. And oh, they.... shoot! I've had the opportunity to handle several of these and they have all shot great! There's several chassis/stock options for the howa 1500 short action. And if you're wanting to run a suppressor, the 16.25" barrel is just hands down the perfect setup. We are making shots out to 700 yards on steel with ease and hunting deer at 300 yards and in. Fantastic setup. I've been having mine fluted for looks and shaves a few ounces, and then cerekoted. Then placing them in mdt field stock with a little paint for a beautiful budget hunting rifle that stands out, and also will challenge your buddy's at the range! Thank you Pete for teaming up with howa for these barreled actions. (Let's see a 16.25" 223 wylde haha)

Installed in a Stockys carbon fiber stock. Shooting federal gold medal match 168gr it shoots sub MOA no problem. Plan on buying a mini action soon.

Put it in MDT field stock. This thing is a tack driver. Super sweet setup with my can. A bit heavy for hunting, but useable. Great for target shooting.

Haven't got in a stock and shot yet. But looks like going to be a handy compact barreled 308. Was package well and arrive when said. Also has brownells lifetime warranty.
Great value
Put it in a Bell & Carolson m40 stock with a Leupold mk4hd 2.5-10 With good handloaded match 168gr im getting 2620 fps and 1/2" groups at 100yds. Absolutely did not like 165gr Speer Hot core, i was getting over 3" groups with those. Great gun, great trigger, and great quality build, just do your part and you should be pleased.
