The original GI mags were almost a throw away item so they are not reliable 1/2 century later and don’t hold the bolt open.
These Gen2 hold the bolt open, are reliable, and value priced.
These M1 carbine magazines work great
I had been using old WWII magazines which kept causing misfeeds even after replacing the springs in the magazines and a complete spring kit in the carbine itself. I ordered these and the rifle performed flawlessly with both reloads and factory ammo. The rounds loaded easily with stripper clips and by hand.

Great Aftermarket Mags
Genuine GI M1 Carbine magazines are sometimes hard to find and can be expensive. I’ve used KCI Glock magazines for years with good results, so I decided to try the M1 carbine magazines. They’re a little tight I the mag well, but so are the Glock versions. It’s not a drop free magazine either.
The mags are easily loaded and feed really well in my Inland M1. At this price point, it’s wise to stock up. Kudos to Brownells for having ample inventory and great prices, plus fast shipping. Buy with confidence.
