Well built and functions well
I purchased this mag to fit the 'chassis' for a rifle being built. Unfortunately I could not find this mag for the caliber of the rifle - BUT - by checking the casing dimensions of calibers this was the perfect "fit". Very pleased with the quality. Solid. and functions without flaws.
Used for 6.5x284
Bought for a custom rifle chambered it 6.5x284. 30-06 sized mags were causing feeding issues. This mag worked great no feeding problem at all. Didnt even have to tune the feed lips.
A must for long low drag bullets!
I had to mill out my standard length bottom metal on my 300 WM in order to use this extra long CIP length magazine (the action was already set up for CIP length). Now I can load 210 to 230 grain Bergers up to the lands and still fit comfortably in the magazine, for best accuracy. I withheld one star from the rating only because the feed lips are very sharp on the bottom (they can scratch the casings) and they need to be bent in order to feed all rounds well. After that , they work very well.
New Design is Garbage
The old 300 WM 3.85 Accurate-Mags were great, but the company replaced the model-specific 3.85 follower with the followers used in the 3.715 magazines to cut costs. The new follower tilts/moves excessively and causes failure-to-feeds (for 300 PRC) unless there are at least 4 rounds in the magazine. Essentially, the 5-round mag will only feed 2 rounds before it causes malfunctions. I loved Accurate-Mag products, but I won't be purchasing anymore. Brownell's is always great!
