Exactly what I needed
I tried to install a Crimson Tide green laser saddle, a 6 shell saddle, and a Monstrum picatinny top rail with the same 4 screws on top of my Mossberg 590 Shockwave. The screws that came with these items were too short to thread through all of them. I knew they were 8-40 screws but didnt know the depth so I got them longer than I needed and then ground them down a bit when I received them. My plan worked. The screws were hard to find, so thanx Brownells for sticking them.

Good quality screws
My ruger mkiv lite rail mount 6-48 threads got stripped out so I had to open them up to 8-40. This screw kit came in handy. Its probably a lifetime supply for most folks but its good to have spares because you never know when you will need one. Some hardware stores have gun screws but that can be hit and miss. Its better to have them on hand. YouTube will show you how to cut down screws and bolts if you dont know how.

Stripped Badger Ordinance Ring Repair
I had previously made the mistake of striping out one of the threaded holes on my Badger Ordnance Scope Rings. These happen to be long enough to compensate for the top 1/8in of stripped threads. After minor Dremel work to the circumference of the Torx head and trimming the length, these worked perfectly to repair the issue. If you stripped your Badger Ordnance Rings, you need these.

Worked for my app
They seem like quality screws. Needed for a RMSc install. Cut to size, threaded OK, tightened down as expected. 5 stars

Good value
Good value for a variety of base/mount screws. I like the longer length as it gives me the versatility to cut to just the length I need. Plus I save the cut off 'leftovers' to make receiver hole plugs. Appear to be good solid heads also as they don't distort under torque.

Great for Mossberg 500 reciever mounts
I bought a rail mount for my Mossberg 500. The screws it comes w/ are 8-40 and the receiver holes are 6-48. So the screws that came w/ the mount are too big in diameter. Very frustrating until I realized I had bought this set of scews from Brownells. Talk about a stress reliever. The 6-48 screws fit perfectly and I had to only cut them down so they wouldn't protrude into the receiver. Now I can put the red dot I bought for my Mossberg 500. Thanks Brownells

Great Value
I looked at screw kits at several sites and other Brownells kits. I selected this one because I wanted the longer screws and I liked the assortment of screw heads. When working on a recent project, the assortment of heads allowed me to select the proper screw for the job. Oval heads for a flush fit on a flat mounting plate, Fillister heads for more strenght on a grip mount, and Torx heads on a scope mount. Couple the fact that the price of the kit is only a few bucks more than a refill pak, and you have a real value.
