LAPPING COMPOUNDS

LAPPING COMPOUNDS Reviews & Ratings

The right abrasive for lapping the final fit between semi-auto slides and frames, rifle bolts and receiver raceways and any other application where a super-close fit or silk-smooth mecha- nism is required. #600 and #800 grit aluminum oxide abrasive crystals in a long lasting petroleum base that's water soluble for fast, easy cleanup in soap and water. Aluminum oxide crystals are smooth and rounded in shape, so they won't embed and continue to wear the part after cleanup.

Got this for trigger jobs and fitting parts. It works great. A little goes a long way.

Fine finish
Lapping scope rings? Use this for a smooth finish after using a more coarse grit.

Good stuff
Used this #600 grit lapping compound to fit a 1911 slide to frame. Lapped it as the last step to get a very nice slide to frame fitment. Used brake cleaner to clean off the used compound on slide and frame. This compound worked very nicely to get the job completed.

Works great, would prefer a finer grit
The product works well. 800 grit is the finest it seens they carry/make though I'd prefer a 1000.

Not happy with this compound
I ordered these compounds and found them to be a bit too thin for my taste. I would have preferred a thicker, paste compound. They worked for me but just took a lot longer to get the results I needed.

Too Watery
I just received a new batch of both 600 and 800 grit. They’re so watery that they Impractical to use! I had to leave them open for a few days to evaporate. It supposed to be a paste so it doesn’t run all over. I also doubt there is 4 oz. in these containers.
