The Hornady® SST® (Super Shock Tip) is designed to deliver tremendous shock on impact while expanding quickly and reliably, particularly at higher velocities.

Flat shooting and deadly accurate, it's an ideal bullet for whitetails, as well as most North American game animals from antelope to moose and similar-sized African plains game. The SST® creates a devastatingly large wound channel.

SECANT OGIVE, BOATTAIL PROFILE
Incorporating the pioneering Hornady secant ogive design, the tapered point, increased bearing surface and more aerodynamic profile, combined with a boattail base, makes the SST® more efficient with less drag and greater stability.

CANNELURE
A mid-body cannelure helps keep the core and jacket together while providing a consistent, accurate crimp during the loading process.

INTERLOCK
This Hornady exclusive design mechanically locks the core and jacket together to maintain bullet integrity during expansion, ensuring maximum weight retention and increasing the chances of complete pass-throughs.

Loaded 6.5 Grendel rounds with these bullets. The boat tail and cannelure make it easier. Nice rounds.

6.5 123 = Dead rt there

In 6.5 most opt for the heavier bullets , at my local shops all the deer season loads were 123 or 129 so i went with the hornady sst a proven round for me in other calibers. At 43 gr imr 4350 im pushing these at 2824 avg has resulted in 2 dead right there deer and one 50 yard deer this year. 3 shots 3 dead deer , 1 double lung dropped due to severe hydrosatatic, 60 yards. 2nd 90 yards down hill double lung dropped old wide rack 8 point , 3rd was 85 yards double lung and blew out portion of the heart made the mad dash of 50 yards before piling up , awesome round as usual.

Great Bullets

I have been reloading for several years now and these line of Bullets are the easiest and most consistent I have worked with. Although I selected Competitive Shooter I actually fall between that and Occasional Shooter. More than Occasional but not Professional.

Great Bullet

I use this bullet for reloading my 6.5 Grendel. After trying several bullet types and weights this one turned out to be the most accurate. At 100 yards it will hold 3/4" from a 16" barreled AR over a charge of Viht N140. Haven't chrono'd the load yet or had an opportunity to use it on game, but when I do another review will follow. From what I've read the on game performance should be pretty good.
