Springfield M1 Garand Scope Mount
Very impressed with engineering. Easy to install. Like the cowitness rear peep sight. Haven’t been to the range yet. Also I am left eye dominant this configuration should be to my advantage .

Best scope mounting system for M1 Garand
This is simple and rugged and does not change the value of an expensive M1 Garand as there is no permenant change to the rifle. I have purchased 3 of these over the years.
Great Mount
Best used on a receiver that is NOT expedient, otherwise you may have to grind the nut for the bolt head to clear for removal. I know. I first used on an expedient mk1, but moved it to my irish mk2. It's extremely solid and I've found it a great add on that allows me to shoot with these old eyes. I have a nice strap on leather cheek riser that aligns my eye perfectly. I'm shooting a very nice condition irish, so it's nice that I haven't had to work any permanent mod, and I can return the rifle to original config - got the rear leaf parts in a zip lock clearly labeled and safe that way.
Confusing!
The mounts themselves get 5 stars ( 794001100 ), the first picture gets 1 star because it's showing two different style mounts. The top one is for the S&K mount with integral rings...the other shows the Weaver-style scope base (the bottom mount). That is very confusing for those who aren't aware there are two different mounts showing. I own both mounts and they are easy to install and use...although they are side mounts...not in-line with the bore.

This product is very simple and very strong. Your scope will sit very low to your gun (thats what you want) . I have tried every other scope mount on the market for this gun (rugar mini 14 model 181 )and this is by far the best!! Strong,simple and unlike other scope mounts for this gun, your scope will sit very low to your gun. Very pleased!
Nice Product
This mount is very nice since it replaces the rear sight so you can put on any rifle scope you want without drilling and tapping. Takes about two minutes to install. Just a note, the special nut has groves are supposed to match the groves of the mount when installed. This was not quite as clear with the instructions included. Once it's on, it stays on solid.
S&K M-1 Carbine mount
Very easy to install, simply remove rear sight and replace w/mount. No alterations to rifle; replace rear sight any time you are ready. Great product!
Good mount
it's but had to remove some of the bottom of the mount to get it to fit properly but once I its a solid fit
Simple, but works well
Wanted to scope my 181 series Ruger Mini 14 for load testing, this was about the only choice available. Happy to say, it worked as advertised. Installation was a snap, took maybe 15 minutes, half of which was removing the OEM rear sight. Mounted the scope solidly, and held zero. My only complaint is that there are only 2 slots, that left barely enough room for the scope I was using, a small 6X, and makes it impossible to mount a red dot or other compact optic. A full Picatinny rail would offer a lot more flexibility. The only other issue was a tendency for ejected brass to hit the mount and fall back into the action, causing a lot of stove pipes. Not a fault of the unit, it's a quirk of my particular rifle, but it really makes this only suitable for range use IMO. Having your rifle jam in any other scenario could be bad news. Excellent unit otherwise, I'm glad I got it.
Well made base
I have a Universal commercial M1 carbine which are a little different than the military versions. The base fit, but required a small amount of clearance grinding with a dermal tool to clear the bolt handle, also needed file the piece that slides into the dove tail. I needed to contact S&K, they were great. If you are capable of the above work I recommend this base, it transforms the capabilities of this weapon.
