Love this item. It is my preferred go to for all of my builds. I have used other products and styles (both less expense and more expensive). but this model 510 C with green reticle is the one that works best for me!

This optic is coming strong with zero issues after 3 years. I have it in green, not red. I really like the optic and how easy it is to install, zero, and operate.

This thing is so awesome and so cool. I guess you need a rail to mount it that it does not come with. I may have to get gun smithing done as I do not know how to mount to my rifle. the product itself is awesome and appears to be well built

Holy cow, the Holosun 510C Solar red dot sight is a total game-changer! With its solar panel AND battery-powered options, I can go all day without worrying about running out of juice. Plus, the reticle is so bright and clear, I feel like I'm in a video game. And the cherry on top? It's waterproof, so I can shoot in the rain like a boss. Who knew a red dot sight could be this much fun?
Excellent Sight...
I first came upon this sight while searching for sight, for people with astigmatism. I was using a Sig Romeo5, which is a fine sight in it's own right, but I always saw a "smudge", instead of a true dot. The use of a magnifier only exasperated the situation. I'd use the sight on the lowest visible brightness for every situation, which reduced the "Starring" I saw at higher settings, but nothing eliminated that "smudge". So, having found some very favorable reports, I took a chance and ordered an HS510C. I was not disappointed. The projected reticle is crisp and clear, and set to the proper brightness for the conditions, my eyes see no "starring", and no "smudge"! Even under 3x magnification, (using a Holosun HM3X), everything is clear and defined. The sight come set for an "Absolute Co-wittiness", which is my preferred set up. I've seen reviews referring to problems removing the screws to use the supplied "Lower 1/3" spacer, but as I did not need it, I can't speak to that situation. I can say that the sight mounted without issues, sighted in easily, and remained on point through the course of the 200 rounds I fired with it in place. The controls are as expected, and easily learned by anyone taking the time to read the instructions. I tried the Auto-Brightness function, but I was not impressed by it. Because it uses the photo cell mounted on the sight, it cannot tell the difference between the average ambient brightness, and the brightness of the shooters location. This caused the reticle to become too dim when shooting from shade into sunlight. I found the manual settings settings to be more useful. "Auto Off", and "Shake to Wake", both functioned as advertised, I definitely like the Titanium hood. If I had one complaint, it would be that there is no supplied cover. At this price point, I don't think that a dust cover is too much to ask.

This is the second HoloSun 510C that I've purchased, both from Brownells. One is mounted on a Grand Power Stribog SP9A3 with brace, and the other is on a 300 BLK pistol with brace. I wear corrective lenses due to aging eyes/astigmatism, and this optic has a clear dot or dot/circle to my eyes every time I pick it up. I can't say the same for some of the higher end reflex and holographic sights that I've compared it to. I'm not abusive to my weapons, so I can't really say how durable it is if you're really beating it up, but it's been flawless for me so far. I've had one in service for about 10 months, and just purchased the second one recently. I have nothing to criticize about these units and their features at this time. Get you some!

An incredible bargain
I have been running two different HS510C's for over a year now. One on a 16" AR and one on a 10.5" AR. They are incredible optics with an amazing field of view. A real bargain at barely over 3 bills. The mount is well designed and holds zero with no issue, the reticle is sharp, the glass is clear, it is very easy to sight in, the battery life is great, and the build quality is excellent. The only possible downside of this optic is the emitter which could become occluded in harsh environments. However that is easily avoided with a little caution and common sense. Plus the overall positives are more than enough to keep this optic in the 5 star category.

This is an amazing optic and deserves better reviews. Especially from the idiot LEO below who doesn't realize he has astigmatism, lol. It's solid, well built, uses batteries with a solar backup (or vise versa I guess), runs even without a battery inserted off solar, adjustable between circle, dot, circle+dot, comes with a QD mount.

Not sure about the negative comments but I have one green and 2 reds on my rifles. MPX, AR15 and a Tac Sol 22lr. I compete regularly and the reticle is bright and crisp. Has a lever quick disconnect so I am not sure how other reviewer has it coming lose. Have had for over a year without any issues. I prefer the reds for the contrast. My competition times went way down on steel challenge having the circle dot. 2 MOA center dot allows accuracy and distance too.
