The Ammo Boost Detachable Magazine Drop-In Kit for Howa 1500 from Legacy Sports International contains everything you need to boost your 1500's magazine capacity to 5 or 10 rounds. It also gives you the speed and convenience of a detachable box magazine for super-fast reloads. Each Ammo Boost kit consists of (1) the magazine itself and (2) a drop-in bottom metal assembly that replaces your rifle's triggerguard, hinged floorplate, and the surrounding frame. All components are constructed of reinforced, injection-molded, impact-resistant polymer. This super-tough polymer keeps weight and your out-of-pocket cost down. Installation of the Ammo Boost Detachable Magazine Drop-In Kit is fast and simple. Just remove the factory floorplate assembly and install the Legacy parts. Save the factory part in case you ever want to return the rifle to its original configuration.

Ammo Boost kits are available in both 5-Rd and 10-Rd capacities for long-action (LA) and short-action (SA) Howa 1500 rifles chambered in a variety of popular cartridges. They will also fit Interarms 1500, Mossberg 1500, Smith & Wesson 1500, and Weatherby Vanguard rifles (cat out of the bag: these rifles are all built on Howa 1500 actions!). Good, Inexpensive Upgrade

I havent installed it yet. Im not crazy about the plastic material, but, I have another Howa 1500 with the same magazine and adapter and it works beautifully!

It works as advertized but it's plastic

I purchased this and installed it into my Howa 1500. I removed the METAL trigger guard and base plate with spring and installed the PLASTIC trigger guard and magazine housing along with the magazine. Install is very simple and fast. I was disappointed that I was replacing a very stout metal piece with a light plastic piece. Other than that, the unit works, it functions as expected. I will say the mag release is somewhat tough. I am hoping that it will ease up with use.

Fits as advertised but.......

Just note that this item is not metal but injected plastic. Although it fits well there are signs (seam from the mold running along the underside.) It was not advertised as being metal but I guess I was thinking for $70.00 it would be.
