The Ammo Boost Detachable Magazine Drop-In Kit for Howa 1500 from Legacy Sports International contains everything you need to boost your 1500's magazine capacity to 5 or 10 rounds. It also gives you the speed and convenience of a detachable box magazine for super-fast reloads. Each Ammo Boost kit consists of (1) the magazine itself and (2) a drop-in bottom metal assembly that replaces your rifle's triggerguard, hinged floorplate, and the surrounding frame. All components are constructed of reinforced, injection-molded, impact-resistant polymer. This super-tough polymer keeps weight and your out-of-pocket cost down. Installation of the Ammo Boost Detachable Magazine Drop-In Kit is fast and simple. Just remove the factory floorplate assembly and install the Legacy parts. Save the factory part in case you ever want to return the rifle to its original configuration.

Good mag upgrade

Good solid build. Like other reviewers, I'd prefer a medal trigger guard like the one it replaced. Aside from that, it easily accepts the mag and consistently feeds and shoots great. Highly recommend for varmint hunting. Furthermore, it's super easy to install into a Howa 1500!

Great add-on accessory.

Easy install. basically remove original internal mag and floorplate assembly, and replace with this kit. One minor molding imperfection inside of the magwell was causing a slight bind when inserting or removing the magazine. Ten seconds with a file, and everything was perfect.

Dropped right in

223, dropped right in, no trimming needed Magazine feeds great, wish it had an option for two magazines, check box, one magazine or two.

This was purchased for a .223 and was a perfect fit. The function of the mag release was simple, though the lever is quite small, it is easily engaged with the bare hand. Thick gloves may impede function during colder weather. Ammo feeds nicely from the magazine (slide in front-to-back), though loading is not typical of AR type mags (push down). Fit required no adjustments, though hints are included in the instructions. Seems sturdy enough for regular use. Magazine seats smoothly and firmly, with no excessive force. Overall pleased with purchase, and was a great value. No field testing yet.
