Fantastic Upgrade
I got one of these for a C-308, and it was such a great improvement that I got one for my PTR-32. The stock grip frame for each rifle is fine for guys with tiny hands, but for many of us, they're way undersized. This product fixes that, along with improvement of the grip angle. The grip texture is great for sweaty hands . HK and Cetme trigger packs drop in, no problem. Money well spent.
Great fit wonderful upgrade
I used this to replace the grip module on a PTR built c93 that I got from Bud's gun shop on special. It is a hk 93 clone kit built with original hk parts. I hated the skinny smooth grip that came with and some people had said the plastic was too thin and broke easily but it was a 922r part so I couldn't just replace it. I was thrilled when I saw magpul make a replacement. I also bought the magpul ambidextrous safety selector to go along with so my left handed girlfriend could have an easier time with the rifle. Fit was snug on the trigger pack so it took me 3 times to get it situated so it didn't bind. The rest was no different than regular reassembly after field stripping. The grip feels much better and storage compartment makes good use of the wasted space on the original.
Everything I expected from Magpul!
I have several SEF housings for my POF MP5 SBR (yes, I have a tax stamp), but have always loved Magpul on my ARs and couldnt have been more excited when they announced gear for the roller-lock crowd. I was uncertain of how secure the Magpul housing would feel as my POF is a 2 pin receiver and the Magpul only accommodates the shelf and rear pin. This is not an issue - the housing fits snuggly in place and does not move when the stock is installed. The grip texture is phenomenal. The ambi selector is awesome too. SEF pack did fit tightly, but I wiggled it in place without any need for tools. The grip is angled just a little less than a traditional HK pattern and feels more like an AR because of it. I like the feel very much as its also a bit longer and fits my large hands well. I added colorfill on the markings because red and white is so much more HK!! Very satisfied. Hopefully Magpul will make these in FDE and I can add yet another trigger housing to my collection.
Great alternative to stock lower
Installed a SEF trigger pack and Magpul safety selector. The trigger pack fits very tightly and I used a punch to tap it in the last quarter inch or so. The lower assembly fits well on the upper receiver. No fitting was required though fitting instructions were included. The texture on the grip is a welcome upgrade compared to the smooth grip of the navy lower that came with my MP5 clone. I did not experience any issues with the trigger pull as mentioned in another review. I suppose my only quibble with this lower is that the selector markings aren't filled/colored in traditional HK fashion.
Works okay
For semi auto use it should be fine. The fit of the trigger pack into the grip is very tight, especially the last 1/4 inch. To get it out you will need pry tools. I wanted to change my registered sear pack between grip frames. It's hard to beat OEM for fit.
Upgraded ergonomics
Install was a snap on my PTR-91 A3SK. Fits nice and tight just like the factory polymer grip module. However, trigger pull is definitely different since installing my trigger pack into this Magpul grip module. Almost feels like there's a bit of hang up as the trigger is pulled. Trigger still functions fine and drops the hammer, but something feels like it's dragging. I've checked the alignment of the trigger pack inside the grip module and it looks correct. I will put a couple hundred rounds through it to give it a chance to wear in and see if the issue goes away. If not I'll probably go back to the stock grip module.
