HK MP5 TOP PICATINNY RAIL MOUNT Reviews & Ratings

Midwest Industries continues to roll out innovative aftermarket accessories for a range of popular firearms, and the company has done it again with the launch of this top Picatinny rail mount designed for use on MP5-style firearms. This easy-to-install mounting surface fits the Heckler & Koch MP, as well as the SP89, HK93, HK91 and all related clones. All the tools needed to attach this Midwest Industries top Picatinny rail mount to your firearm are included, and it allows users to mount optics, lights, lasers and other accessories to their gun without having to remove the OEM handguard. The mount is machined from 6061 aluminum and treated with a hardcoat-anodized finish. The piece is made in the USA, which makes it 922r compliant, and is covered by the company's lifetime warranty. Midwest Industries warns that its top Picatinny rail mount is designed to fit 9mm receivers only, and there may be issues in fitting the same mount on .40-cal. and 10mm receivers. The total weight of the mount is 3.3 ounces.

New Accessory!
Frustrating to begin with especially after watching a few YouTube videos and everyone having the same frustrations. But once I figured out how to actually put it on with zero issues, it made complete sense. Love the product and great addition to my toy.. Thank you Brownells.

Ap5
Only reason I'm leaving 4 stars is because fitting was kinda hard and so tight that it left some scratches on my gun. Functions great tho and the fitting could be due to the firearm and not the mount but who knows

Solid Mount
I've been looking to snag one of these ever since I picked up a Zenith MP5 clone, but they were out of stock when I had funds available. I finally picked one up and was very impressed. Quality and finish are great. They included two sets of screws, long and short. I needed to use the long screws on my install. I threw a Romeo5 and it mounted perfectly. 3 of the 4 screws were no problem to install, but I had a raised area on my Zenith on the last one that made the install a little tricky, but not terrible. That is the only thing keeping it from 5 stars for me.

Screws are weak
Last mount cracked on me before meeting torquing specs. This time screws stripped before torquing specs ..holding up so far looks nice on the mp5

Difficult Install
Installation was difficult because the supplied mounting screws are too short. This makes you disassemble the wedges to position the rail correctly. Once the rail is in position you need to rethread the wedges to achieve lockup. Easier said than done. I could only get 3 of 4 screws installed because the screws are too short. Rock solid even with 3 of 4 but this seriously tested my patience.

didn't meet expectations
More difficult to install than it should be; one of the screws doesn't even work- it's slightly larger than the thread so it won't screw in. I think they need more quality control at Midwest. I have another MP5 with a low profile MFI mount and that one is stellar quality, installs in 30 seconds with no issues. I'll be sticking with MFI for any future MP5 style mounts.
