Does size matter?
In this case for me smaller is better. I use these to clean my snub nose 38 specials. When it comes out of the barrel it doesn't hit the other side where the firing pin comes out. With a longer brush it's a lot harder to avoid that. Not like I was worried about it but just better. The brass handle is always a good thing and you dont have to put the brush on your cleaning rod. Just makes the whole process easier and faster. Feels like good solid construction. A great idea and a must have now for me.
No Cleaning Rod Required
I use these heavy duty nylon bore brushes with integral cleaning rod, to clean my 9mm semi-automatic pistols and .38 Special / .357 Magnum revolvers. They are outstanding brushes and unlike the zinc plated twisted steel handles, these twisted brass handles will not mar or scratch any surfaces or the barrel bore on my handguns. The heavy duty nylon bristles clean very well and do not retain any residue. I find these integral handle cleaning brushes to be far more handy than having to screw a brush onto a cleaning rod.
Top quality - no fear of harming barrel
I am extremely happy with these brushes. I use them with my S&W M&P and find them to be "just right" for cleaning the barrel. Like the description says with today's modern cleaning chemicals there is no need to use an old fashioned phospher bronze brush any longer especially if you clean your guns after each range session like I tend to do. These nylon brushes are nice and stiff and there is no need to worry about screwing them on a handle. Highly recommended!
