A great CLP gun oil
I work in a gun shop and we have access to many brands of gun oils. We find the G96 Treatment (the aerosol)is outstanding and the master gunsmith has been using it for 40+ years. We finish off every repair job before returning it to the customer with G96.

Gun Treatment
Been using G96 for many years. Protects well and smells fantastic, no harsh odors. I put it on a Rig Rag and use that to wipe the firearms down after use and cleaning.

Found an old favorite
I grew up with G 96 and didn't realize that it was still available. It is the best all in one cleaner, lubricant, rust inhibitor available. The smell brings back my childhood from the 70's and 80's and great memories of hunting with extended family and friends. The great smell (I wish they would have a candle in this scent) means no one will mind your cleaning every gun in the house twice a year! I am so glad that I found this great product again.

Go everywhere gun protector
For decades I have traveled around the world hunting in all weather. One item is constant inside my gun cases, a can of G96. It, as a spray, displaces moisture and prevents rust under ribs and bridges. When sprayed inside a removed shotgun barrel stuck down in a garbage can and allowed to soak for 2 hours, a Boresnake will easily remove all shell residue, including plastic, from a 2k shell day in the dove fields of Argentina or a 1.7K shell day in the pigeon fields of S Africa. My well used guns all look brand new. Do yourself a favor and get a can of G96. I hunt, shoot in competition, build custom rifles and handguns.

The American Version of Ballistol
Great all-in-one cleaner, lubricant and protector for all your firearms. Safe to use on polymer firearms and rubber grips. I use it on my knives, tools, rifle scopes and optics as well. And it has a pleasant odor like bubble gum (egg nog?). You will need a dedicated copper solvent for stubborn copper fouling however. Otherwise a fantastic gun care product especially for the first time gun owner.

"The American Ballistol"
G96 has been around for over 30 years but I just started using it under the recommendation of Chris Bartocci over at Small Arms Solutions (see his YouTube Channel). They should have better advertising and redesign their peculiar 1970's logo because it really is a great gun cleaner, lubricant and protectant. It's basically an American version of Ballistol and works the same too as it also contains mineral oil but without that funky licorice smell (G96 actually smells like egg nog or bubble gum!) You can safely use it on all metals, wood and polymers and it won't burn your hands or smell up your house. Spray it on barrels, slides and polymer parts, wipe it down to clean it, then repeat for a shiny polish and awesome rust/fingerprint protection. It dissipates moisture and leaves a slick lubricating film, great for humid or foul weather environments (the consistency is a little thicker than most gun oils). It does a great job at removing carbon however does a poor job at removing copper fouling (you need a dedicated copper remover for that). It's a great CLP and if you have any doubts buy the small 4.5oz can. Worst case you can always use it for household tasks like hinges and locks.

G96
It's labeled a CLP but I always clean and lube with separate chemicals. It's however the best smelling oil on the market.
