Looks like it was made to fit.
The hammer extension was easy to install on my new lever gun. The fit was great since it looks like it was made to match up with the hammer. It makes the hammer on the rifle easier to pull without the danger of gouging your thumb. It adds nice fit and finish to the rifle.
Excellent addition
Fit my 1894CS mde in 95' perfectly. Comes with extension, allen bolt with blue threadlok, and allen key. Not only can I mount a scope far back now it makes it much easier to cycle the hammer by finger. Probably reduces the felt hammer cocking tension by half.
Hammer Spur Extension
It doesn’t fit as I was told it would. It is a Remington made M1895 in 45-70.
Doesn't fit newer Marlin 336
If you order this part for a recent (in the last ten years) Marlin 336, you'll have to file on it. In fact, you'll have to file a LOT to make it fit! If you're not comfortable with taking a file to a brand new part, I'd suggest you buy another brand of hammer extension as this won't work otherwise.
Hammer extension for Marlin 1894CL rifle
This hammer extension was to fit my 1975 manufacture Marlin 1894CL. It did not fit as specified. Slot for hammer to go into was .318" wide, rifle hammer .359" wide. Working with some small files to remove the required metal was easily done. After fitting, satisfied with fit and workmanship of product. Bob
