Works Just Fine...
I have had this part on my Gen 4 since new...about 3 years. They perform exactly as designed and I can not understand how the other 2 reviews found this item to be in-effective. I would readily promote these to all shooters of all levels. A side note, I am ex LEO, tactical trained and field experienced. I have tennis racket sized hands and have always had issues of Glock slide bite. This little fairly priced item Works Just Fine.
Me Likes
I love the Glock beaver tail adapter for my Gen4 G17. Fits my hand perfect. My problem was that my Gen3 G17 just didn't feel right anymore. decided to try this. Just installed so no real testing yet but I love the feel. Gives me the similar feel and grip angle as my Gen4. Used the shorter one on a Gen 3 G19. Nice it comes with two. Don't be a bonehead like me! Read the simple instructions first. I had several frustrating minutes trying to install until I read the instructions. Easy install after that. I first tried to put the second adapter on a Gen3 G26. Really didn't want to snap into place. I'm sure I could have got it on but decided it was a better choice on the G19.
Grip Force Gen 1/2/3 Adapter
Installed this on my Gen 1 G17 and it seems like my grip is more comfortable. Easy to install. Never had any problems with slide bite but if you do, this will definitely help eliminate that problem.
Excellent Glock Gen 3 grip enhancer!!!!
I have used and carried a Glock 21C for many years. Throughout these years I have tried quite a few different add-ons to help improve the feel of the slightly cumbersome grip. I saw the Grip Force adapter advertised on T.V a few weeks back and decided to give it a try. The problem I was having was sometimes the slide had a tendency to want to shave skin at times. This stopped that problem. It added an excellent feel to the grip without adding hardly any bulk. It now has that nice feel of having a grip safety as on the 1911's. It really filled the void of the awkward Glock grip. I am using this in combination with the adhesive grip tape on the sides and under the trigger guard. It works very well. Best combination I have found for holding on to and controlling recoil on the .45 acp.
Good product, but be aware.
These things do exactly what they say. They will prevent slide bite and give you a bit more to grab onto with possibly a better grip angle. I got mine in and instantly returned them because they increased the distance to the trigger slightly. That increase was just enough with my short fingers to keep me from being able to reliably pull the trigger in dry fire. I get slide bite often from Glocks, so I wanted to try them out, but even with flat faced triggers (Agency and Overwatch Precision) that reduce the length of pull to the trigger, I wasn't able to deactivate the trigger safety reliably. Nothing wrong with the product, just be aware if you have short fingers that this may cause you the same problem.
Gen 4 grip adapters
Quality of product's construction is fine. However, unlike the factory Glock adapters these ones do not lock into place. There is a roll pin that holds the backstrap portion of the adapter in place. Unfortunately the beavertail portion of the adapter does not have anything holding it in place and it can be pulled or flexed down. For me this was enough to return the ones I purchased. I will wait for the factory Glock adapters to become available.
Stick with Glock
Slide was biting me on recoil, so I wanted the beavertail. I personally found that these items did not fit nearly as well as the stock Glock extensions. I elected to stay with the Glock parts on my 27gen4 and have a slightly larger grip, or in this case the same size as a Gen3.
