Sinclair flashhole debuting tool handle
This item is the handle only to fit the Sinclair flashhole debuting tools. It is of proper size (4”x1.25” approximately) for a good solid grip and control of the tool. I use this when prepping a large batch of new cases. When the cases are rotated in my powered case holder I can deburr flasholes, chamfer & deburr inside & outside of case necks on the case with one setup per case. A timesaver as well as smoother cutting with the tools.
As Expected
This works as expected. I fully expect it to function as desired for the rest of my life.
Great tool to have on the bench
I use this on all my rifle cartridges, 243, 270, 308, and 300. Every step of prep work leads to the best cartridge in the end, especially when this is a one time step on any brass. The handle and overall build quality is 2nd to none!
Best ever flash hole deburring tool
First it is compatible with the Sinclair handle that came with my old tool. Far better solution over the older model. The older model the cutting head looked like it was press fitted into a hollow tube. Even though it worked, the cuttings that collected in the hollow tube really annoyed me. I found that I routinely tapped the tool on the bench in an effort to dislodge the cuttings. Not an issue with this new design. The stop collar easily adjusts to control cutting depth. Must have tool for developing accurate loads.
Works as described! Easy and worth it.
So far I've been using it on 300 or so 300 BlkOut cases, some 10 MM, 9 MM, .45 ACP and .38 special cases. Easy peasy and worth that extra time for the first go around. Time will tell after these reloads with Covid limiting range time. Happy with tbe tool, shipping around this mad Christmas rush and Brownells/Sinclair.
Great tool
I use this in a mini metal lathe for stability and consistency. I've been using it on once fired military 556 brass and it does a nice job. Trims just the right amount. No need to use the cone on 223/556. No "Cons"
Works great. Uniform results everytime.
I chose to not order the version with the handle since I often find they don't fit me very well so I mounted this to one I do like. In general this is a very well designed and very useful tool. It's accurate and gets the job done cleanly. Since I use this before I make the case mouth and length of a case uniform, I can't guarantee the taper will provide the same center each time, so I added a slight spring between the taper and handle, and left the set screw loose. I found this helped quite a bit with the centering action and allows me flexibility with different sized cases. Also I would add a 1/4" bit drive to use an electric screwdriver.
Won't fit range brass in .223
I focused in on this product because it's self bottoming, meaning you are not relying on the case mouth to prevent over reaming your flash hole. It works great, and evidence of it doing its job is some brass doesn't need it and produces no shavings, whereas others produce long curly brass shavings. I chucked it in a cordless drill. After about 50 casings, you establish a routine of uniform pressure and time. LOVE the tools. The downside is the shipping was almost 50% of the cost of the tool itself, and curiously, it doesn't fit range brass in .223/5.56. The shaft only fit down approximately 1/3 of my range pickups. That was a real disappointment because the alternatives don't have the self bottoming feature, so you'll have to trim every piece of brass before using the competitor's products.
Sinclair Gen II FlashHole Tool w/ Handle
Quite a bid of research went into this decision. Many to choose from a lot of different manufactures. I am not looking for high production rate, electric driven, caliber specific unit, yet I want a quality product. Several press manufactures highly recommended this unit. They are correct, it exceeded my expectations. I reload a lot of military brass. It cuts so easily I didnt think it was working until I had a pile of brass shavings on the bench. No need to push and grind to get it to work, just a few turns and its done. Very easy to adjust to different lengths. Jumping from a 223 to 300 Win Mag, no problem. Do order it with a handle, much easier to operate. When done, clean it with a tooth brush, drop of oil and put the protective cap back on.
Very Nice Tool!
Just finished deburring 100 cases and the tool worked as advertised. Universal cone allows the tool to be used on multiple caliber cases. The tip and shank are one piece, so there is no concern of the tip coming loose.
