New version is great
The newer version that has screws holding the latches on instead of roll pins is excellent. Drastically improved, does what the original claimed without the spontaneous disassembly. Highly recommended.
broke before firing
Installed the SilencerCo GDCH on a new rifle. Charged the rifle to check safety function. GDCH disassembled due to roll pin breakage.
First one was defective
Both arms of the charging handle fell off before I finished shooting eight mags. Unfortunately I was shooting outside, so the arms were lost. I contacted SilencerCO's customer support and they gave me a shipping label to send it back. The one I received back is a new design. It has screws instead of roll pins holding the arms on and the arms have a little extra machining on them. It seems I wasn't the only one that had the issue with the roll pins backing out and the arms falling off.
Will replace with new
I called silencer co customer service because roll pins walked out. They said it is a problem with first run of handles. They will replace up new handle that doesn’t fall apart free of charge. Still not that impressed with the handle for the price.
Junk
Latch fell off after only about 200 rds of use…for the money go for more quality
Don't waste your money
Fell apart (holes in handle are oversize for roll pins) within first 20 shots. Latches fell off, rendering it useless. While it does seal the gas from your face well, operating the charging handle will frequently pull the o ring out, jamming the charging handle out of battery and requiring disassembly to replace it.
