Will help clarify the reviews. FN uppers don’t come with the 203 cut as a standard anymore. For those unfamiliar that step down or “notch” in the barrel forward of the front sight post was a standard for mounting older style M203 grenade launchers. Otherwise it serves no purpose other than aesthetic. If you want an FN barrel/upper with that cut you’ll have to look for older stock or mil contract overrun barrels. Under the handguard they’re still the same shaved down government profile. That being said these uppers work just fine and are of the quality one would expect from FN.

Miss informed reviews

This rifle does come with a government profile barrel. It does not come with the m4 profile barrel like picture. People is the review are miss informed on profiles. Looking at you Srg. R. Also government profile barrels dissipate heat faster so for the people who want the M4 barrel must want it for looks. This upper is excellent.

FN quality and warranty...check, 20" A+ grade barrel...check..., bayonet lug....check.....comes w BCG & charging handle...check...so much freedom and liberty in this box it's astounding!! i was going to build my own 20" upper but theres not a better deal on quality and reputation than an FN product....

I bought a complete FN upper assembly expecting an M4 barrel profile. I got a regular barrel profile not the M4 barrel contour. Thank you.

Not M4 cut

The barrel is not M4 government cut "as pictured on the website" like all of the Q&A people are saying. When I asked if I was taking a gamble on whether or not it was going to have an M4 cut, the CS rep just replied with the description citing something about the feed ramps which had nothing to do with what I was asking about. I don't know if the other sites are like this but for a high end item like an FN upper, I'd like to know what I'm getting and not be deceived when I spend 700 dollars.
